Try replacing the turn signal flasher first.It should be above the drivers feet near the steering column and looks like a typical flasher unit. A little round canister with 2 wires,sometimes 3 wires.It is what you hear clicking when using the turn signals.

check all the connectors, make sure they are tight

obstructed fuel flow may be the problem. filter or pump.

Are there any blinking lights on the dash? If so, you probably triggered a security shutdown! Charge (or replace) that battery, then try it again!

most likely a torque converter clutch servo/solenoid problem it will not require a new transmission just an accredited transmission specialist shop to sort out the electronic control problems if it goes in reverse , ti could be a TCM problem in not activating the torque converter clutch in the drive position

You might have a short in the wire somewhere. That could be a real pain to find, if it shorts out going over a bump or turning. You might also have a defective alternator, but unlikely.
