It could be the switch itself, I had to replace the switch on my Impala LS when the sunroof quit working.

The shifter linkage being loose could cause this problem. Try to shift the car into neutral with the key turned to on, and then try to to start it. The car may start in N, if this is the case the adjustment is on the side of the transmission.

dome light is control by the jam switch door. means the 4 of jam switch is closed

Check why there is excess oil in the sump. If it is white then you have water in the oil. If it is oil but very thin then there is fuel getting into the sump. The piston hit the oil at a high level and hammer the sump. oil at a high level can by pass the rings and cause a hydraulic lock in the combustion chambers. I suspect that you will find water in the oil from a head gasket or cracked head problem.

Code 401 is for a problem with the EGR valve air flow. It could be the EGR valve or the sensor.

the radio runs the door chimes as well as a number of other components. dash lights things liketha so if your stereo is not working thats why your door chimes are not either. I would start with fuses then look to getting a new stereo only thing ir a n aftermarket harness for that car runs about $150 bucks
