2008 jeep liberty vents not blowing out air?

I also have an 08 liberty, but my issue is that the heat won't blow out on the floor....the air vents and defrosters work great. You can hear it trying to switch over but doesn't. You need a new Air Flap Actuator (16-$30) The real issue is that you have to take offf the whole das in order to fix it. That is abouy 9 hours worth of work.

How do I remove passenger airbag?

ah , RTM, read the manual. are you just deactivating it , or removing it for ever or replacing? The FSM tells you what to do. 1: deactivate whole system (dangerous it is to any mech) pulling car battery can take 1hr to discharge it, (so dont do that) 2: then unplug it. (pass, bag. conn.) 3: unbolt it , its gone. The real FSM shows nice photos and step by step. some of this is at alldata.com go to jeep and buy the FSM. read the manual.

Transmission

open glove box, take out operator guide, see it there? be advised, on many newer cars, this dip stick is gone. post engine, size post , tranny option. which options you have , is not stated. nice TSB parking brake RECALL.... do not guess on fluid. it my need ATF+4 you can read the guessing below, but why guess? why not just LOOK. i first look in bay, the engine bay, hummmm no stick. so I then jack up car, and use STANDS of proper weight class. and look at the tranny, its not complex. this huge aluminun casting wire wires, and vent hoses. and 2 cooler lines, I LOOK, and see if my case has a dip stick tube i can do this in under 15min, only needs be dont 1 time ,ever. if you are DIY, this is SOP, ? std, op procedures. LOOK first. if just wondering, then ask a mech, to show you or read the opr. guide, if they fail to mention it, its NOT THERE. some do tell, they say ,no user serviceable transmission level checks. or by the FSM, buy it and read it. what transmission is in you car, know body ,knows. in fact sometimes they change the make of tranny , in mid year. if you work on cars, you learn that,, (mid year productions changes) first google hit, gosh im blessed.???? http://www.jeepkj.com/forum/f225/no-transmission-dip-stick-45387/ see how they dont really know, due to above comments.

Where is the thermostat on a 2008 jeep liberty

The thermostat will be at the end of your upper radiator hose. The neck that the hose bolts to needs to be unbolted from the engine - that's the thermostat housing. Should be three 10mm bolts, as well as some hoses that you may need to disconnect. If you're replacing your thermostat, come prepared. You'll need to scrape the old gasket material on and apply a new gasket. Also, pay attention to how you remove your old thermostat and be sure to put the new one in with the same orientation.

Airbag light comes on for no reason

Hello Eric,No such thing as "no reason" I am afraid...! Possible causes are: things being forced under the seats, esp when the seats are moved. Someone adjusting the drivers, or passenger seat to it maximum limit (either way). There are often wires under the seats/in the seat belt stalks that can get pulled causing the AB light to come on. You can check to make sure any under seat wires have not been disconnected, with the ignition OFF.If nothing obvious get someone to read the codes out from the control unit, high resistance is a common problem. However, and this is VERY important, you SHOULD NOT attempt and work on any SRS/AB system unless you are qualified to do so and/or have the battery disconnected. EVEN WITH the battery disconnected, if you use a multimeter on ohms setting, you can trigger the SRS/AB and they are deployed with HUGE force, enough to kill or cause serious injury. Please DO NOT risk working on this system unless you are trained to do so.
