2008 Hyundai Elantra - Page 7 - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
My 2008 elentra has had a tire sensor changed, but
I'm sure the owner's guide has the necessary info and there is a 'recalibration' procedure that needs to be followed.
If you don't have the guide anymore, it is likely available from the Hyundai support website.

Suspected kick starter issue
Do you get a clicking sound? If so it could be the battery or the starter. If not then its the starter solanoid (relay)

When your tires are cold there is less psi in them. only after you drive does the air in your tires heat up and increase in psi. check your tires for 35 psi before you drive around in car. TPMS-Tire Pressure Monotoring System

What does the 15000 mile check up on the 2008
A complete check-up of the car which should include but not be limited to:
- Change the oil (when was the last time you changed it?) Change the oil filter & the air filter (again, when were they changed last?)
- Check the coolant and brake fluid
- Check the brake pads - inspect all lights including turning signals (for safetys sake)
- Check the air pressure in the tires (including your spare tire) Check your car's alignment, this can cause uneven wear on your tires and it will believe it or not contribute to making the trip more exhausting.
Make sure you get a good rest the night/day before you depart. - if you begin to doze off dont hesitate to stop at a rest stop. Dont fight against your body, if you are tired, stop and take a 30 minute power nap, wash your face and drink a cup of coffee before you get back on the road.
Make sure you have a bottle of water in the car and plenty of good music to listen to. - Speed wise I suggest you dont travel at more than 10mph over the speed limit, traveling a little over (up to 10 mph) is tolerated by police, but I strongly sugest going 5 mph over the limit, set the cruise control and enjoy the trip without worrying about potential fines. If you do the math, the difference in time traveled is not so great:
speed limit = 70 mph (just as an example) 1300 miles @ 70 mph = 18 hours 36 minutes 1300 miles @ 75 mph = 17 hours and 20 minutes 1300 miles @ 80 mph = 16 hours 15 minutes the difference between traveling 75 or 80 is only 1 hours and 5 minutes. Not worth risking a fine for

Low tire pressure indicator lights up even after
working with these types of tiures on a daily basis ive seen inexpereineced lads break the sensor mounted at the valve stem (inside the tire of course) if your display tells you which tire is low i would have it removed and inspect the sensor. that is if oyur pressures are set corectly, also there is sometimers a reset button and just plain driving around will someitmes clear it to normal.

The tire pressure light came on this morning.
the sensor in the tire may be faulty. If you have taken it and checked the air pressure in the tires already and it stays on then you probably have a faulty sensor. try airing the tire up a little more and see if it goes out. If not you may need to go to the dealer. They should be able to connect to the computer and verify the faulty sensor. Did you air up all the tires? Some systems will only tell you a tire is low and not which tire it is so air them all up too!

Car Stereo
I HAVE A 2008 HYUNDAI ELANTRA. I HAD THIS PROBLEM WHEN I WANTED TO REPLACE MY FACTORY RADIO. I ENDED UP TAKING APART MOST OF MY DASH TRYING TO FIGURE IT OUT. AFTER ALL SAID AND DONE. I FOUND OUT THAT THE PIECE THAT GOES AROUND THE RADIO JUST SNAPS INTO PLACE. I USED A COUPLE OF FLAT HEAD SCREW DRIVERS TO PRY IT OFF. THAT IS IT. IT IS THAT EASY. THE WHOLE CAR JUST SNAPS TOGETHER. THE CAR IS CHEAPLY PUT TOGETHER.

Car won't start
Check the Lemon Laws on your car, seems something like 3 repairs for the same problem with no resolution... Go online or ask the dealer and also on the back of every repair invoice from a dealer it should give the regulations for resolution and Lemon Laws... hope this helps... or simply take it to a different dealer for inspection...
