2008 Hyundai Elantra - Page 3 - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Hyundai Elantra 2008 "ecs off" light is on, is this dangerous? Can we fix it ourselves?
It's not something you can fix yourself - it typically requires special tools and a very specific checklist of things to check in a special order.
Driving with the ECS is no more dangerous than driving in a car made before 2005. It simply means that it cannot automatically correct things like driving to fast into a corner or slipping on ice. If you stay out of the "pushing the limit" type driving and treat the car as if it didn't have any kind of electronic nanny controls, you should be fine.

Jerking brakes
have the disc rotors checked for warpage and bad wear. Check that the wheel bearings are in good condition and properly adjusted. Check pad thickness as you may have metal on metal.

Had to jump start now heater/ac wont work, no air blowing
Check the fuse & relay (owners manual will show you where the box is)
Relay box in under the hood on the driver side just above the tire.
Inside fuse box should be on the side of the dashboard (driver side) very close to the door hinges.
I'm pretty sure you popped a relay or fuse during the jump.
You can pull the possible bad relay out and grab another relay (borrow it) from something else like brakes or lights.... just make sure it's the same part number.
(don't use fuel or engine control or anything that would stop the car from working)
Swap them and start the car to see if the AC/blower is working.
Hope this helps

Trunk open light flashes on bumps
the trunk should close firmly and not have any play, check the mechanism it should have a few philips screws holding it down, normally the mechanism is designed with slots that allows the mechanism to slide up and down, trial and error until you happy with the play on the trunk, if the light still stays on adjust the switch, this can be done by turning the locking nut below the switch to raise or lower the lever.

I have a clicking sound under the glove box. When
behind the glove box is where your blower motor is located, it sounds like the fan may be broken or something may be lodged in the area causing the noise. i expect it is the fan itself, they have small clips on them for balancing and it may be loose, as the speed of the fan increases, force stops the clip from moving.

Air in hyundai comes on by its self
Same happened to me long time ago, when I just turn the car it did it like 3 times, then later air was out, no more, completely, then I took it to Dealer and under warranty, they replace the ACTUATOR MODE, and problem resolved.
