My golf mk4 display car wit key on dashboard and
well it seem that ur key should be reprogamed
first step u have to do it
take the battery cables out for 30 min or more
and reconnect them again
then take the spare key and strat it not the key which u starting every time

Cannot get radio to work
The sequence of VW radio programming is:
1. Push simultaneous "SCAN" and "RDS" keys until on the screen will appear "1000" displayed.
2. Release keys. No more push on "SCAN" and "RDS" keys because otherwise number "1000" will be considered as first safe code attempt.
For example: we have the security code "5079". Then:
3. By the no.# 1 key you will set up the first safe code digit. Push 5 times on the no.# 1 button. The "5" number will be setted.
4. By the no.# 2 key you will set up the second safe code digit. Push 10 times on the no.# 2 button. The "0" number will be setted.
5. By the no.# 3 key you will set up the third safe code digit. Push 7 times on the no.# 3 button. The "7" number will be setted.
6. By the no.# 4 key you will set up the four-th safe code digit. Push 9 times on the no.# 4 button. The "9" number will be setted.
7. Then push again simultaneous "SCAN" and "RDS" keys for confirm this safe code. On the screen will be displayed "SAFE" notice. Release keys! For few seconds a radio frequence will be displayed. The radio is now ready for use!

You can reset the Airbag ECU only using VAG or similar diagnostic equipment connected to the data link connector of the car, even you had repaired first fault wires cut under seat! After all faults erasing from the Airbag ECU the airbag warning light will turn OFF.

do you mean the fan or the temp selector, , ?If temp gauge/selector go under the dash on top of heater core box or on the side will be a lever on older cars it was cable operated newer cars vacuum, try moving the lever by hand, vacuum line may be broke or module may be bad, thats why its not closing .

there is little slots in radio and use whats known as radio keys to remove them
and radio shop or automobile supplies should have them
lot of different types so bring car with you keys inserted and they pop the radio for removal

The engine management light coming on could be the result of any number of things/systems that are monitored by your engine computer. EGR valve failures are very rare. (Although many get changed by DIYer's trying to "guess" what may be causing the problem.) Your engine computer will record a fault code to tell you why it has turned this light on. I would recommend having your computer system scanned to find out exactly which system the computer is having a problem with, then properly diagnose that system to locate the actual cause of the failure.

well loks like you have catalyctic convertor problem check the tip of the exaust pipe if it makes the pufs sound has a misfire and check for codes on the ecu if you had more than 30000 miles on the fuel filter is time to change it
Is there i default code
There is no default code to get your radio up and running. Unfortunately if it was not included in your packet of manuals, specifically the radio pamphlet, you must go to the dealer with the serial number of the radio ( you have to remove it to get the number ) and the vin number of the car. You also might try some of the used parts suppliers as they have a way of finding some codes. Good luck!

This is normal operation. Your vehicle is equipped with a "Rev Limiter" that shuts off the fuel injectors at roughly 3200 - 3400 RPM to prevent damage from engine overspeed.
