My new brakes squeek when i aply them

Unfortunately, this is characteristic of todays metallic and semi metallic pads, particularly if they become glazed. This condition can however be lessened or eliminated by applying a brake silicone lubricant to the back side of the pads, between the pad and the caliper. This will reduce "brake chatter", that is associated with disc brakes. Good Luck! I hope you find this to be very helpful!

Engine code p0307 miss fire cylinder 7 ?

A code P0300 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
  • Faulty spark plugs or wires
  • Faulty coil (pack)
  • Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
  • Faulty fuel injector(s)
  • Burned exhaust valve
  • Faulty catalytic converter(s)
  • Stuck/blocked EGR valve / passages
  • Faulty camshaft position sensor
  • Defective computer
Possible Solutions If there are no symptoms, the simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back.
If there are symptoms such as the engine is stumbling or hesitating, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the cylinders (i.e. spark plugs). Depending on how long the ignition components have been in the car, it may be a good idea to replace them as part of your regular maintenance schedule. I would suggest spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor (if applicable). Otherwise, check the coils (a.k.a. coil packs). In some cases, the catalytic converter has gone bad. If you smell rotten eggs in the exhaust, your cat converter needs to be replaced. I've also heard in other cases the problems were faulty fuel injectors.
Random misfires that jump around from one cylinder to another (read: P030x codes) also will set a P0300 code. The underlying cause is often a lean fuel condition, which may be due to a vacuum leak
in the intake manifold or unmetered air getting past the airflow sensor, or an EGR valve that is stuck open.

My tailgate i must slam it to keep shut

If you remove the handle that opens the tail gate you will see two rods connecting to it. Each one goes to the latches that open at each side of the gate. Lube the latches up with a good grade of lithium grease after they soak for one day with WD40. They may work as good as new again if the rods are not bent out of shape. The rods are very inexpensive to replace also

Got oil cahnged and now change oil soon light is

Turn the ignition on and within a few seconds slowly pump the gas pedal three times. A message displaying "oil life reset" should show up in the drivers information center. If you have the "newer" driver information center look for an "i" button and scroll through it until you see "oil life **%" displayed. At that point press and hold the reset button until it resets to 100%. Should take about 10 seconds of holding the button.

There should be instructions on how to reset it in the owners manual if this doesn't help. Good luck.

What could cause my engine to consume oil between oil changes

under warranty? how many miles? what engine? what kind of driving do you do? what brand and weight of oil do you use? is all this well documented?......I think 1 qt per 800 or 1000 miles is considered normal, but I would talk to the service manager at the dealer about it. theres got to be a problem with that.

Instrument cluster flickers radio resets

well you might have some wires crossed, or the BCM "body control module" now if your lockes are going crazy and the lights are flickering these 2 don't cross each other exept the BCM you might want to check your keyless entry relay. check the owners manual to see if it shows the fuse for the power locks and see if that stops both from happening if so its more likly that its the relay and not the BCM, and trust me the BCM is expensive to replace, your looking at $800 +
I'll check into this some more tomorrow at work I've got more resources in the shop than i do at home for diagnostics and give you some detailed trouble shooting on this problem with some step by step... can you give me the make, model, year, engine size please?

Truck lost power engine will only rev to 38-4000

Sounds like it has went into "Safe Mode". This is a feature in newer autos that will allow you to drive it to a repair station or off the interstate when the engine detects that it has too many miss fires in a row. Several causes for this, bad gas "water in the gas", burning oil, etc.

My 2007 GMC 1500 With the V8 has the add oil lite

GM HAS A BULLETIN OUT PIP4574E

THE BULLETIN PERTAINS TO AN OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE. IT INVOLVES THE LEFT HAND VALVE COVER AND THE LIFTERS. THE LIFTERS ARE THE MAIN CONCERN, THEY PUMP TOO MUCH OIL AND IT GETS PUMPED INTO THE VENT HOLES IN THE PCV AREA OF THE VALVE COVER ALLOWING IT TO BE SUCKED UP INTO THE INTAKE MANIFOLD AND BURNED.

BOSTRUCK IS CORRECT ABOUT YOUR WARRANTY.
