Faulty starter motor or wiring

Ok the p143 or 143e code is 02 censors ! Located on the exhaust pipe . And on BMW Is got to cost some $$$$.the p0491 Is the air intake control censer! Check the switch after of course you verify that the lamps are ok.

Bad switch? Sounds like the control isnt communicating. If its newer model. Bad sensors.

check turn signal fuse if ok check turn signal flasher unit.

No, it is not safe to drivbe with black smoke comign out of the exhaust. More harm that good.

rear parking sensors Transducer lines are the wiring harness to the parking sensor. check the sensor is clean and that wire are connected right

there is something wrong with cylinder power, and engine control unit have problem with smoothness regulation at idle, it might be spark plug, cylinder compression, cables , ignition coil... etc you should have some other fault codes witch are connected to this code, send all your codes pls

It means "something is wrong". You need to check the messages to find out.

Hi sounds like the same problem I had crankshaft sensor my battery light came on and the engine would cut out sometimes would start straight away other times took 5mins to start again. But would get a garage to check fault codes costs about 40pound but could save you 100's as it may be a faulty alternator/battery.

Why are you convicting the idle control valve? was it properly diagnosed? Could be coolant sensor, intake sensor,O2 sensors etc. Check it out first.

did you reconnect the coolant level sensor that goes underneath the expansion tank ? it is fragile so possibly it broken - cheap to replace.

if u have to ask you probably shouldn't go near it.there is nothing under there for a novice! remove the filter ( 3 clips) from the back of the engine space there are 5 (maybe 4) torex screws holding in the housing for the filter,remove housing remove oil fill cap loose cover should lift off remove the 4 coil packs (they pull up off the spark plugs) unscrew the 2 wires either side of the VVT motor remove bolts(12mm socket) and rocker will pull off. They can be a bi$ch to get back on.

it could be something as simple as a broken exhaust hanger, take a look underneath, move the muffler and see if you hear it. I could also be a heat shield that has come loose.
