Changing a Battery on a 2007 Ford Galaxy 1.8 TDCi
I have just changed my battery on a 56 plate. You need to remove the air box in front of the battery compartment as the battery has to slide forward to come out. Firstly look down at the box and at the front is black rectangular pipe going to the air grill at the front of the car. At the top of the pipe is a plastic clip, unhook this and slide the pipe down away from the box. It takes a bit of force but it will clip out. Then at the back of the air box there is a large pipe with a circlip on it. Undo the circlip and remove the pipe from the box, You can leave the sensor in the air box and then just pull the air box free. It is only held in with rubber gromits. Once free move it to one side and you can remove the casing and then remove the retaining bolt holding the battery in.
My indicator fuse keeps blowing
well you didn't specify year or where the light is , so lets try it like this , the indicator that you mean is your signal light either in the front or back tail light yes/no or do you mean dashboard/instrument panel signal indicator light yes /no for the 1st one you must go to each individual lamp that has this problem and first check the socket for moisture/over greased/broken bulb/or melted inside or out that would let the socket ground out and blow the fuse if all is O.K. next look at the wires from the socket and search back as far as you can through the wires through the frame just a small slit or break in the insulation will ground out the wire usually around where they go through the holes in the fire wall or the wire has broken off and is touching the frame ground but if these all come up O.K. for the front and back lights / next go to the steering column and if possible again I don't know what year this car is so I'll assume it's a 70's - 60's at the steering column and fuse box first pull out the flasher for the signals this is the easiest thing first once you have pulled the flasher/s if you have to separate ones please pull both and mark which one came from where so they don't get mixed up but usually they are a dual flasher in one can now put the fuse in if it doesn't blow, the flasher that's associated with that part if there's two is blown inside if it does blow the fuse and the flasher is out you must now go to the directional switch that's in the column you will have to pull the steering wheel on an old galaxy if this is a newer one go to the multifunction switch that you use for the signals/wipers/washer/flash-to-pass/and unplug it now go back to the fuse box with both the flashers out and the multi function switch/or the signal switch unplugged from the circuit put the fuse in if a no blow is the result that's good now plug in the flasher/s one by one if a no blow still exist that's good now we have eliminated the flasher cans and have found that either the multifunction switch / or you turn signal switch on older models is blown now plug that in the fuse it should blow and we are definitely sure it's that unit that's causing the problem but most times it's either one so look carefully at all sockets and wires and then go inside the vehicle for those check points listed have fun and post back with year & progress of what was done or what is still happening and please specifics really count here because I'm not there with you & neither is anyone else whose willing to try to help you O.K. we need as much info as possible for the vehicle
