no year told nor country how sad is that, going Generic, made 1975 to NOW, must we guess cars? and vast evolution ? but Polo not sold in USA (huge hint there) I presume it burns petrol both fuels had 1.6L diesel too TDI yes spark coil is clue, only Coil told. guess #1 engine stalls. PETROL stop guessing or go broke fast, there a can be 50 causes will; you guess 50times, can I watch?(evil face joking) ouch took a bath in fuel on a guess wow. that is brave. not told at all:(and key to not going broke) told the story and evidence ENDED at the STALL> ! 1; fails only hot or cold engine or both 2: using right foot (pumped) can not save the he stall. 3: did it restart fast after the stall . 4: was engine overheating? 5: did any other things 12vdc electrics things vast on car fail at stall>? 6: alternator tests pass? 13 to 15vdc at idle. 7: no loose fuses? 8: at stall and parked, safely , is spark dead? a test all techs do. yes /no , did you know all EFI engine on earth cut fuel instantly if spark is detected bad by the PCM (no simple misfire P030x) 9: scan the PCM at or just after the stall? oops. never skip scans. 10 at restart did CEL/SES/MIL cluster lamp glow running? can it be made to fail parked, in your drive way? or garage if yes, causes are 10x more easy and safe, than while driving but I own a logging scan tool so can drive and log all DTCs live or stored, and makes work 10x more easy. and some errors take 3 hits top store, so we have a pending key on the scanner to find those too. that is it for now we can peel the onion as deep as you like. using tools and basic skills. if will not restart say so and say it cranks fast and do Add, 5%throttle crank to check for IAC dead. or do add WOT 100% throttle to clear floods (petrol crazy rich) never mess with fuel parts, if spark is bad on any cylinder or that invites adding bad parts to the car, now has 2 or 3 things bad. no fun there, and huge down times guessing wrong. it is super easy to buy the wrong parts guessing. zero fun there. stop throwing parts. please. and no the PCM is not bad. no ,no and no.

not told, (old post)\ tips of spark pulled out or just the top part why not use photos so tech need not guess. guessing is silly. but I do show the tests if car is told fully. 1.6L 2009 petrol engine, but no country told and spark evolution varies by market sold. so photos speak 1000 words. shows spark coils too.

Do the rear lights work? If so renew the front parking light bulbs

Sorry for that. There quite many things that could lead to Gear shifting problem. Let me hope your vehicle is Automatic transmission system. I would like to know the last time you serviced the your car, did the technician change the transmission fluid or not? If the transmission fluid has not been changed for a longtime, you need to consider changing that transmission fluid and observe the behavior of you car after that and ensure that the level is appropriate.

Probably caked in dust and debris. I would remove the fan, clean it and refit it.

Sounds like the starter bearing is dried out,(very common on VW) you cannot lubricate them, only way to fix the noise is to replace the starter. I have seen VW starters make this noise for years and still keep working, so it is up to you if you want to change the starter, noise bothers you to much, then you can change it, it will not cause any damage to your engine.

If you hear a noise that means that the electronic solenoid is operating, so it isn't the fuse. You do have power going to it. It appears that it is a common issue. One way that often works is to have someone in the car and someone at the boot. There is no relay for the tail lights.

If the engine light is blinking you have major issues with the vehicle. Have scanned at autozone or similar for codes this will give you a idea what is wrong. Then get back to me when you have codes

Could be a number of things.its possible the car has 2 issues unrelated. Relays for the fuel pump often fail and coil packs themselves give trouble. However things that affect both spark and fuel Crank angle sensor Engine fuse blown or ecu fault The immobilizer is malfunctioning, try your spare key. scan the car for faults and report codes

Most probable cause disconnected or leaking vacuum pipes. You will hear hissing sound closest to the pipes. If it is using the newer motorized throttle body, it may have to be reset by a diagnostic scanner. The accelerator pedal position sensor defect may cause the same problem. Then again. I have seen a few cases where a large debris get stuck in throttle body that prevents the air flaps or butterfly from closing.

The headlights could of had burned out and need to be replaced.If the headlights are still not working after being replaced there might be a problem with the wires or the electrical parts that have the head lights work. A mechanic would have to inspect your car.

Replace fuel filter the get blocked. if problem persists do a fuel pump pressure test.
