I just bought a polo playa 1.6 from a personal owner and I want to do a major service on it how much am I looking at to service it?

In all modern cars there is a tiny DC electric motor driven gear drive that moves a plastic door that blends heated and cooled air from the AC and the heater core, this is called (interestedly enough) the air temperature control blend door actuator. The motor that moves this door fails because the door starts sticking from warping, most common complaint is no heat but it can be no AC as well. To replace these parts (blend door and blend door actuator) you must remove the entire dash from the car. Always have this problem confirmed by a dealer or qualified repair shop as it is a very expensive repair.

all speeds go through the resistor except high that is why it will work on high you are bypassing the resistor if you are sure the resistor is good it has to be the blower spped switch on the dash

the little plastic clip that holds the operating bar mechanism has broke and the said bar has dropped out ,remove the rear panel and have a look and you will see what i mean

you cannot on the common rail system its a dealer only job with their fancy software ,i havent managed to do one as yet on the newer vehicles .

if it not ticking over correctly but drives ok then i would be looking at idle speed control valve. hope this helps and if you need any more info/technical data just ask

Sometimes the problem is in a blockage in either the tubes from the pump to the spray ports or the spray ports themselves are blocked. A small straight pin may clear the blockage.

I'm not familiar with that model, but the problem could be the temp sensor or relay. The pcm should read the sensor and turn on the relay when the temp exceeds normal. You can proble the relay socket to see if the pcm is trying to turn the relay on. See tips at link below. Do It Yourself Diagnosis and Repair
