Triumph stag not starting when hot
what ignition system have you got on your stag? is it the origional twin contact and condenser system, the origional system needed to be setup correctly to work properley.ie. dwell of 26to28degrees the condenser was the favourite suspect.if it has been changed to electronic check for good spark at the ign.ht king lead. if thats ok no matter which ign. system you have got, the problem may be the twin su fuel pump located in the the boot.make sure the pumps are working ok.you should hear them tick at ignition on. it could be fuel vapourisation. is the engine overheating? it will be on stromberg carbs. you should check the diaphams are ok
How would I replace a battery on a Triumph wristwatch ? I have the tool to put the back on . Just never encountered this type of battery with it's unique hold down . Thanks in advance Godbless
To replace the battery in your Triumph wristwatch, you may need to use a specialized tool to release the steel hold-down. Here are the steps you can follow:
Remove the back of the watch using the tool you have.
Locate the battery and the steel hold-down. The hold-down is usually a metal plate that covers the battery and keeps it in place.
Use a flat screwdriver or a specialized battery removal tool to gently pry the hold-down up and release it from the battery. Some hold-downs are held in place with screws, so you may need to remove screws first.
Once the hold-down is removed, gently lift the battery out of its compartment.
Replace the old battery with a new one of the same size and type.
Replace the hold-down over the new battery and press it into place.
Replace the back of the watch, making sure to tighten the screws securely.
Note: If you're not comfortable with replacing the battery yourself, it is best to take your watch to a professional watch repair service for assistance. Replacing the battery improperly can cause damage to the watch.
Cant start engine
The three fundamentals...
1. fuel
2. spark
3. compression
Low/zero compression would explain faster than normal starter spin, but questionable root problem with "just cut out".
Are plugs wet with fuel? If not, verify carb bowl has fuel at proper level. If plugs are dry, pour a couple tablespoons of fuel down the carburetor and see if it fires. If it fires... its carburetor or no vacuum/compression. If it doesnt fire with raw fuel, then likely no spark, followed by low/no compression.
Recheck spark with a cheap spark tester, the kind with adjustable gap, and verify check actual spark.
Do a compression test.

was good both solenoids for forward and reverse worked, but still couldn't diagnose the problem.
I don't have much technical knowledge but I just followed it step-wise, and now it works perfect! covers wiring, codes, diagrams, torque specs, PCV, everything
