Hi, I would imagine the letters GTSD, sum it up, ie, the TD bit means Turbo Diesel. not sure. Hope this helps, you could look for pictures of turbos on web, basically its a fan, driven by exaust gases, that turns a fan that forces more air into engine,= more speed.so its going to be between exaust manifold and air intake, I have fitted them, but cant really explain them in simplistic terms.

It probably needs to have the code re entered into it.

get the code machine from napa,auto supply shops ,mac tools,sears very costly to try to guess what the codes are and then try to repair same.unless you know hat and how to fix that

Perhaps the Avensis has a brittle cable like in the Highlander. I repaired my 2002 Highlander yesterday thanks to this site.

There are lots of reason to misfire. The most common one is the spark plugs. Then it could be also the wiring harness, and last but not least, the piston. Troubleshoot the spark plug and the wires by removing them with the engine on, or remove the one that you think is misfiring and then turning the engine on, check the spark plug. Change the spark plug wire to TS the wire. If they looks fine, then it could be the piston.

THERE SHOULD BE A FUSE BOX OR COMPARTMENT WITH A LIST OF FUSES ON THE COVER.. LOOK UNDER THE DASH OR CLOSE TO THE WIND SHIELD UNDER THE HOOD.
