2006 Toyota Avalon Limited Questions & Answers
On complete down motion of drivers side power window on 06 avalon i hear a clunking noise
You will be needing to take the whole door panel apart and to see why the noise.
It would be well to do this before the window stops working, as it could happen at a most inopportune time, like during a storm.
You will be needing a really good light, and maybe a hand mirror to see inside the door after you have removed the inner door panel
God bless your efforts.
How do I get the check engine light on my 2006 Toyota Avalon to go off? A loose gas cap was the culprit
Hello Tom:
You can reset the check engine light by clearing the DTC code(s) at the ECM port using a code reader; or by disconnecting the ground (negative) battery cable from the terminal post of the battery- wait 5 minutes, then, press on the brake pedal or turn on the headlights to draw any remaining (residual) voltage current out of the electrical system.
Replace the ground cable to the battery...restart the car.
Should the check engine light come back on, the problem was not just with the gas cap, you will have to use the code reader to pull the trouble codes...and based on the code(s), you will then have to perform diagnostic troubleshooting to trace and locate the component part(s) that are triggering the events. If you suspect a particular part or several parts, you will have to test them at the component level to see if it or they are operating properly or are malfunctioning.
HOW MUCH IT WILL COST TO FIX A UPPER OIL LEAK GASTRET?
-Depend on which one you want to replace...?
Hear is basic and if you do it yourself:
If Only valve cover gasket. it'll be around 15 to 20 dollar.
If Only head gasket. It'll be around 20 to 70 dollars for gasket and also recommend to replace all head bolt if you do head gasket. So it 'll be another addition 30 to 70 dollars.
-But if you pay a shop to do for you. they will consider rebuild the whole engine. (It will cost you around 1200 to 2000 dollars)
Don't take my words. This is just give you the idea. It could be more or less.
Good Luck

2006 toyota avalon blowing white smoke in the morning then clears out
you may have 1 of 2 things it may be a seeping head gasket allowing coolant to seep into cylinder overnight or it may be valve seals leaking allowing oil to seep by valve seals onto valve smell the smoke as coolant will have a sweet smell and if its oil thats what it will smell like
Toyota Avalon 2006 all Check Engine, VSC, Traction Control lights are on
that code 356 is a bad coil. if it is completely dead than you now have a 5 cylinder car.... very bad not only on mpg but also on the life of the engine. when you have a "dead hole" it can affect the other cylinders and you have misfire codes for all 6..... this could mean you simply need a tune up or that there is something affecting all cylinders. check for a vacuum leak after the air flow sensor, or a ruptured fuel pressure regulator (remove the vacuum line at the regulator and smell for gas cause there should not be gas on that side of the diaphragm) fouled spark plugs, clogged exhaust or catalytic converter, stuck open or dirty EGR valve to name a few. change that #6 coil first and at least inspect or change the spark plugs... c1201 relates to a communication stop between ECU's , don't assume that as the vsc lights etc were illuminated then that is the system that is faulty. It is most likely that the fault is within the engine system but with vehicles equipped with vsc all systems are linked so a fault with one will log a code in all others ( normally a communication stop code as you have)
I would advise fixing the engine codes first then get the other systems checked out
I cant start my toyota avalon 2006 limited with the remote

yes, press...press...hold the lock button should work with starting the car. Make sure the remote has fresh batteries and hold the button down for a few seconds as well. When you are doing this, do the signal lights flash when you hold the button down? (They should be) I would still recommend you stop by a local Toyota dealer and ask for help. Guys like me (Toyota salespeople) love to help out with things like this. Just remember, press press hold for a few seconds...dont press too slowly. The two press should be done in less then 2 seconds...then hold for at least 3-4 seconds on the 3rd press...good luck!
Squeeling belts toyota avalon 2006
There are several possible reasons for this. The new belt may be the wrong size or have a different number of grooves cut into the belt. Some pulleys have more or less grooves which must match the number of grooves on any grooved pulley, even if only 1 pulley has the grooves.Mounting the belt through different paths which makes slack in the belt.Frozen or worn Belt tensioner which fails to put adequate tension on the belt. Idler pulley bearings can be worn out and new belt is now causing bearing to show up with noise. When routing belt, make sure grooved part turns on grooved pulley and not the smooth backside of the belt.
