Probably discovered problem by now but I had a problem where the beep would start a few seconds after the car started and the temperature warning light came up. I discovered that the because of the cold weather the coolant had contracted and exposed the level warning sensor in the coolant header tank. If you add a small amount of coolant (The proper VW type) to raise the level about an inch and then start the car again and see if that is the problem. DO NOT USE WATER, use the correct coolant.

the code comes on If the battery goes flat or remove . the code comes on a card inside the radio manual . With out this I don't think you can bypass it .Could try the maker of radio they may help.

Antifreeze could just be low, have a full service gas station check your anti freze level.
