With an engine that old there is no way it will meet OEM specs. You check them all and write them down and look for the low reading one. Any variance between the highest and lowest that is greater then 10 percent is an indication of problems. To see if it is valves or rings, go to the low reading cylinders and put a little motor oil in the spark plug hole and rerun the test on the cylinder. IF the reading is higher, the rings are worn. If the reading is the same then the valves are bad.
