Will replacing the battery in the key fob solve the demobilisation problem
yes A DREADED RENAULT ,now if this is one of the older ones then yes it will not start -if the keyfob isnt working you cannot work the click and without this it will not start ,look in the centre of the dash and you will see a red light well it looks red to me because iam colour blind but if this light light doesnt go out then it will not start,Also of lot of these cars will only respond to the dealers software but if you get it to start ,with engine running you disconnect the immobilisor by finding the transponder module in the drivers side footwell halfway up and it has five wires going to it ,now with the engine running you cut the third one and then it will start agin without the silly click click of the remote .renault ??????? lord give me strengh
My battery sounds flat but few hours later starts immediately
Sounds like a dead battery which will have a small surface charge after sitting.. check the battery voltage with a voltmeter (cheap tool from Harbor Freight) should be 12 v or higher.. if voltage is below 12v either the battery is bad or the power from the alternator is not getting to the battery.. The easy things would be a cooroded battery cables, loose battery cables, at either the battery the starter or where the ground cable connects to the frame. Jump the car to get it running, check the output from the alternator.. usually red wire.. should be about 13v -14+v. now check the voltage at the battery.. should be the same 13v - 14+v if you do not have this voltage coming out of the alternator with the engine running the alternator is probably bad.. If the power is commning from the alternator but not getting to the battery trace the wire from the alternator and look for the short . post a comment here and let us know what you find.
What is the juddering in my Renault Clio Sport 1.4 DCI 2005
motorway so must be english and a uk reg vehicle ,well this is not my favourite make of vehicle the dreaded renault ,So the lights are on and you have a juddering .Well firstly the lights ,the service light and the ABs light are not connected ,the service light can be put out by holding the button down depending in the layout ,anything later than 2005 is a dealer only software job ,the ABS could jsut be damp in the wheel sensors and with the rain in the UK then i wouldnt worry about this too much ,driving a car with no ABS isnt a problem as the brakes still work manually just like a good old ford cortina ,dont drive fast in the rain and slow down with the gears old school style. The juddering is worring me though so i would advise that you go back to the garage that fitted the brakes and ask them nicely to have a look in case one of the caliper retaining bolts is loose although i feel you may need new brake disks ,now take a tip from a old man here wear the high heels and LBD.act dumb and pretend you know nothing and i bet you get this car sorted and the service light put out for free but its not difficult so any problems on this part and i will scan the alldata book on how to do it for you.Excepts its pouring down here in sunny spain and the book is in the garage but iam sure the garage will do it for you its just a case of holding down button A and turning the ignition then it counts down and the service light is reset.See how you get on any queiries just answer this post
Reverse gear not working in my renault clio 2004
IF all other gears work as designed then the problem will not be the clutch but in the gear box. The only thing that you would have removed in the gear box is the gear lever or the gear level turret on top of the box. recheck this area to ensure that you have got the lever in the selector rails correctly and that the reverse rail is not out of line with the cross section of the others.. Use a big screw driver to pull it out of gear to align across the slot.
