What could be causing misfiring, billowing black smoke when revved and really bad gas mileage

Is your choke stuck on? The float in your carb could be stuck. Black smoke means too much gas being burnt. Make sure your air filter is clean. I saw a car that would not run because the air filter was plugged.

My 2005, Pontiac sunfire has no activity after I changed the fuses because I thought that was why 2 of the gauges died first. However, I changed the fuses and then no gauges worked. Now, with no attempt to fix it, the rpm, and gas gauges will randomly get readings? What is your idea???

check your negative ground cable first thing. make sure that it is clean on the battery and all the other places it attaches too, and there are several. disconnect the battery negative and clean it and then disconnect the positive too. when you reinstall them after at least 5 minutes make sure they are very tight. not to the point of breaking them but tight. check back see, turn the key to the On only then off and then ON ( not start) shut it off and then start it as normal. is your check engine light on?

don't know about this exact car, but most brake calipers use either a 3/8th inch allen (hex) head or a T-50 torx head bit. The Hex wrench is what I would get without seeing this. I have also used a ratchet extension on some cars.

I need a diagram of

You have air in the system and that prevents the thermostat from opening. Once leak issue is fixed you have to add antifreeze and squeeze the rad hoses repeatedly until the air is forced out. Run the engine up and down from 2 or 3000 RPM quickly to force air out, shut it down and refill when cold until it starts throwing heat you will still have an air lock.

Cooling fan on 97 sunfire se, 2.2l not running, and is wired to run continuously. Fuse relay is good. Any suggestions?

It's wired to run continuously and it doesn't run ??? Or it does run ??? If it's wired to run all the time an it doesn't , the temp sensor wouldn't have anything to do with it . Fan itself would be the problem . Videos on youtube showing how to test cooling fan .
