Speedometer
The instrument panel cluster (IPC) displays the vehicle speed based on the information from the ECM/PCM. The IPC receives the vehicle speed information from the BCM via the serial data circuit. The speedometer defaults to 0 kmh (0 mph) when the following occurs:
• The powertrain control module (PCM) or the engine control module (ECM) detects a malfunction in the vehicle speed sensor circuit.
• The IPC detects a loss of serial data communication from the BCM.
Hooking up a factory or someother type professional scan tool an checking for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes ,not just guessing an replacing parts is the way to a fix . Do yourself a favor an have a qualified repair shop diagnose the problem .
How to remove catalytic converter
There should be a flange type of piece with a donut type of gasket seal. If this is the case you would need to tap those outward to break the seal. use a hammer with a screw driver to do this or what ever else might work for you. You might have to loosen the muffler pipe and move it away so it will let the flange separate. As for the other idea of it being welded, only if it wasn't bolted on would it be. I'm not a expert but i do hoe this helped give you something to work with. Last resort would be to take it in to a muffler shop. good luck with that.
