Car wont blow hot air heater
all cars... (otto cycle petrol /gasoline)hot Air comes from hot water , in the engine,so the first check is that the coolant does hit 180F and hold.if not the thermostat in the engine is toast.ok 180F , hot motor.next ,some cars have a water valve for the heater coil(alldata dot com, read the manual) if the valve or its dash control to it is broken then it sticks closed.other cars have no valve and they only block the core (bypass) the air to make hot and cold.that too is a control. there are 3 types used, cable, vacuum and electric. on all cars.what you have , is based on YEAR and options.the book shows how to fix this. me ,just look at the controls.if there is a cable then I make sure the cable works. The heater has what are called damper, (flaps)they open or close.and if you have A/C more. if the engines is hot. my guess, is the bypass damper is stuckin the bypass mode. (fresh air only)the best way to work on any car is RTMyou do that because these parts vary radically by year. and make.alldata dot com is the solution , under HVAC.
