if key not opening than you have an internal problem which you need to open door and remove door panel go around and enter vehicle from passenger side and open door behind door panel are rods with clips that operate release their are also spring on latch itself but usually the clip breaks or becomes disconnected most auto stores carry a replacement clip

best way is to have a locksmith come to your place and remove/replace the barrel of the switch Take it to a shop they will charge the same and probably will get in a locksmith to do the job.

Are you saying it cranks good but won't start or won't crank? Any codes? If it cranks most likely the ECM relay in the IPDM.

cables through firewalls are normally surrounded by a stiff rubber grommet that is either just pressed in place or retained by a metal surround push out/in and pull cable through. make sure you replace it to around the same position before refitting the cable

It stops your front signal lights from coming on when you apply the brakes since your signal lights usually run on the same wire as the brake lights ....
