2006 Mazda 6 s Questions & Answers
2006 mazda 6s 3.0 v6. I have a check engine light for Low Barometric pressure. what could cause this issue and what could it affect? also tcs is disabled and i assume it is because of this code
It would be helpful if you included the code you read on the scanner, rather than an abbreviated interpretation of what the scanner gave you. For instance, P0107 means "Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit Low Input". This indicates that the MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor is providing a signal not in agreement with what other sensors are 'telling' the ECM. The MAP sensor is like a vacuum gauge - it is located somewhere in the intake manifold or intake plenum and reports how 'hard' the engine is working to the ECM. These codes indicate there is a problem with the MAP sensor itself or with the wiring between the sensor and the ECM. Double check all the connectors that you disconnected when replacing the valve cover gaskets. As this problem only showed up after you did this work, it's probably a loose connection or pinched wire.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, TCS OFF LIGHT AND THE TRACTION LIGHT are on...
Code 340 is for a problem with the cam position sensor. That would affect the tach and cause the check engine light to be on.And most all the time the check engine light is on the other warning lights will be also. The Traction control system uses the engine and the ABS system to function. So if there is a problem with the engine, the TCS will be disabled. The cam sensor and circuits would need to be tested. It could be a wiring problem.
Engine roaring above 30mph
Is it possible you are hearing a wheel bearing instead of the engine or exhaust ?Normally a bearing will roar on a turn and not on a straight stretch, but I guess its possible to do it the other way. A tire will make a roaring noise too.I can't think of anything related to the engine that would roar only on a turn except maybe the power steering.
