you need to do a full transmission oil change
while the pan is off have the bands and clutch packs adjusted
also have the fault codes read as there could be a pressure problem or a torque converter clutch servo/ solenoid problem

Trace the power using the wiring diagrams. Pull out the main relay. Then turn the key on. Push the main relay back in to see it it clicks as you push it in. If it does, then interrogate the relay socket to see if it is has both hot terminals with the key on. If it doesn't, do the same but also check for the ground signal from the pcm when the key is on.

There are two starter relays in this vehicle. One is in the fuse box, the other right on the starter. Pull the fuse box starter relay. Check for battery voltage on two of the cavities in the socket when you turn the key to the START position. If you see that, then check for ground on one of the other two cavities. If you see all those readings, try swapping the starter relay with another one of the same size and type.
Car starter clicks but wont start the engine

for the amount of effort just buy a new front axle, they arent too expensive from a rebuilder and very easy to swap out since you typically remove the shaft to change the boot anyways. You could have issues from a boot that has been torn for too long letting dirt and debris in slowly wearing out the internals

Sounds like it's not getting fuel. Check fuel pressure at the fuel rail. If low, make sure the pump is running. If the pump is running, but no pressure at the rail, check fuel, filter. Get back to us with result of these checks.

Have the automatic idle system tested. It could be that the control valve needs a cleaning.
