I have a 2005 Kia Rio. The passenger door would not open (using inside or outside handles). Found out that one of the three bolts holding the door lock became loose just enough that the head of the screw rubbed against locking mechanism. Had to kick the door (from inside) open. It worked. Replaced screw and all is well.

To begin with, is your "check engine (CE)" light on? If it was on and now its not, you need to replace the bulb. If CE lights is on, find out the codes before doing anything. If bulb is good and "CE" does not come on, begin with: (1) gapping spark plugs, (2) replace spark plug wires (if haven't changed them within the last 2), then the coil. If your Cinco is still idles rough, adjust gas pedal until idling smoothly. If this still doesn't help, replace your two oxygen sensors. If still running rough, the converter. After doing all this and problem is still present, take it to a mechanic you trust.

what is the idle speed? 750 rpm in drive or 800 in neutral? check that check for loose or damaged vacuum hoses, and air filter box leaks

I need to know if it's the engine has been running a while before it dies number two is give me some more details on this and I'll be happy to tell you what's going on

First check to make sure the battery is actually charged and if it is check around the battery to see if you can find the wire you missed when reconnecting the cables. Try to jump start it. My hunch is a bad connection or no connection at all. I hope this helps. Take Care.

Hello. It seems either your car's engine is, partially, 'flooding' due to a 'lazy' idle air control valve and/or 'lazy' EGR valve. Either one can 'slow' the engine from running its normal idle speed. Good luck and keep me informed; if you want to.

An inoperative power door lock can be caused by the switch, solenoid, wiring problem or mechanical problem within the linkage of the affected door. If all of the door locks are inoperative, start your diagnosis at the fuse box. Inspect the fuse that protects the door lock circuit to ensure it is not blown.
