I'd like to get step to step instructions on how to clean the throttle body in my 2010 Jeep Patriot
- Purchase "02 Sensor Safe" throttle body cleaner spray;
- Drive the vehicle a few miles, bringing it to full operating temperature, then park it in your driveway with the engine still running;
- Gain access to the throttle body, and hold your thumb on the butterfly linkage so that you can open the throttle butterfly when the engine begins to load;
- Begin by spraying throttle body cleaner spray on all linkages around the throttle body. If the engine begins to bog because it is aspirating throttle body cleaner, quickly open the throttle butterfly to keep the engine running.
- Once you have cleaned all around the throttle body, spray cleaner DIRECTLY INTO THE THROTTLE BODY, opening the throttle sufficiently to keep the engine running. It will run rough during this process but try not to let the engine stall.
- If the engine stalls, restart it, and continue cleaning the throttle throat until you see clean metal.
- Pour some fuel system cleaner into the gas tank and drive the car a little more before parking it. Try to find an excuse to accelerate hard, WIDE OPEN THROTTLE momentarily if safely possible (as when accelerating to merge into traffic on a highway).
- Drive back home.
- Done.

- Remove the transaxle from the vehicle. Refer to Manual Transaxle Assembly, removal & installation.
- Disconnect the clutch hydraulic line (6) from the bleeder assembly (2).
- Disconnect and remove the bleeder assembly (2) from the clutch slave cylinder (3).
- Remove the slave cylinder-to-clutch bell housing bolts (4) and remove the slave cylinder (3) from the transaxle.
so ast step 1, you then turn to that page.

- Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
- Remove the splash shields and drain the transaxle fluid.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the engine appearance cover.
- Remove the air intake assembly.
- Unplug the speed sensor connector.
- Disconnect the back-up lamp switch.
- Remove the shift cables from the bracket clips.
- Disconnect the shift selector and crossover cable from the levers. Remove the cables and secure them out of the way.
- Remove the slave cylinder hose from the bracket.
- Remove the air inlet tube from the throttle body.
- Remove the throttle body support bracket.
- Remove the upper bell housing bolts.
- Remove the starter mounting bolts and secure the starter out of the way.
- Support the transaxle with a suitable jack.
- Loosen the left-upper transaxle mount through-bolt.
- Remove the transaxle mount
- Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.

Powersteering issues
the low fluid got too low now has air in system.
must have leaks?
if yes,
fix leaks and put in all fresh, jeep spec,. P/S fluid then purge the air out as the FSM manual directs.
Engine light atays on car run normal
as the operator guide tells you
its running bad, and may not be felt.
my car running great (but bad) gets 10mpg.
as you may not know, engine running rich have more power.
but waste fuel and burn up expensive CAT's
how it feels means zero, if good.

The purpose of the engine is to burn all the fuel and not waste it.
when that happens you get max MPG, and great power and engine last longer and earth stays green./
