wow no engine stated,?
numbers (serial and rules) vary by your countries laws, we cant guess that here, bet the first ever to post country. shock me.....
why do you ask, ??? must we guess. that too?
some countries, have no engine number at all. (laws)
USA car. "? we do have them. but are only used for "parts buys"
we use, VIN on dash , Exclusively. here. see?
gas engine v6. (my guess., 3.7L )
go to jeep read your countries FSM, open the book and read.
the FSM. on the 3 page of the ENGINE chapter.
just after engine index page is that, on mostly all cars made.
but you dont have the book right?
FSM=-means the official Jeep, factory service manuals. all.
but, in 2008 i see this, in wiki
The iron-block, aluminum-head V6
was the only engine available for 2008.
but witch V6? mines a 3.8L 2008 wrangler,
exact name for parts
many engines from 2001 to now have no such number.(world wide not here)
i dont have the 3.7L FSM.
net rumor says
service manual says its on the right side of the block near the front
(4.7L yes, for sure,too)
must be on block not the head, (heads move about easy)
here is 1 example of a customer (smart) not look up his market code first, (OMG its a JEEP EXPORT) (a non usa car, made in USA)
and some have no serial at all
and some are in funny places not used in USA>
some countries have specific laws governing , if engine must have a serial and where it must go, making finding it very hard.
but if you look at the whole block, and its not there, then
its not there.
both sides, look for a flat machined area, (flat) and stamps.
do not read casting marks, none of that is a serial ever.
it will look EMBOSSED stamped, because it was.
