There are _many_ reasons it can light up. The biggest financial mistake people make with cars is not finding out why it lit up. It could be something cheap to fix that will save you from blowing up your car... Or it could be something so expensive that you decide to sell the car _before_ it blows up and becomes worthless. Take it to a mechanic to tell you what is wrong. It is _worth_ the cost of finding out why it lit up.

Power steering pump. low on fluid.

Hi Wendy, You can try getting this sorted out under warranty but (A) I don't know what length of warranty you have, & (B) I am not too sure that you'll get anywhere with a claim.

The cooling fans are supposed to run any time the a/c is on in order to keep air flowing across the condenser. Your a/c will not work properly at idle if they quit.

$250+ at a shop. If you do it yourself, about $30 for the bearing. They are a pain to get off. Use a cut off wheel/grinder. you'll have to cut on opposite sides. Try not to scar the shaft to much. Hammer and long punch to put it back on.

Can anyone point me to the actual service bulletin. My 2012 Escape did this (2000.00) My daughter's 2010 as well (4000.) She took hers to a dealer while warranty was still good and they bled the AC (which we now realize pulled the dessicant back long enough to have it work poorly until the warranty expired.) 26 year olds don't have 4000. to fix the AC.

HI Brandi. Sorry to hear about your accident, hope your ok. Ford has a very good safety switch that shuts off the fuel system in case of an accident. The worst thing is that it will go off if you hit a bump real hard out you hit a speed bump. Now here it's the tricky part. Do you have the owners manual? If you do look for the section on emergency shut off switch. In some cases out cars it's hidden on the passengers. If your sitting in the passenger seat, where your right foot would be there is a little push switch under the carpet against the panel. Where the carpet goes up the side, you should be able to lift it away. You may feel a little protrusion. The switch needs to be pushed down. IF ITS NOT ON THAT SIDE, LOOK IN SAME AREA ON DRIVES SIDE. IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE MANUAL, YOU CAN GO ON ANY OF THE U-TUBE SITES. IN SEARCH, LOOK FOR RESETTING FUEL SHUT OFF SWITCH. LET ME KNOW IF IT HELPS. Are you driving with the air bag sucking out of the steering wheel?

Sometimes the latch can fill up with debris and not have the slack in it so that it will work. Try the key instead of the power lock to manually release it. With much of the trim being plastic, it is not easy to find a good place to apply pressure. If you can press down on the hatch while turning the key, you may compress the rubber hatch seal and create slack to allow the latch to release. If that does not work, the actuator rod may be disconnected. It can be difficult to remove the cover panel with the hatch shut. You would be better to go to a Dealer for an expert to open it.

Could be throttle body.

It is a service check. It means something is wrong and needs to be checked. You need to take it to a dealer or to a auto part store to have a free module check to see if it finds anything. What you do after that is up to you. I would take to get it fixed.
