2008 Daihatsu Terios 1.5 - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Does the 2008 Terios have a transponder or just the separate remote?
I am taking a bit of a guess because I don't have information on such a late vehicle but I think it is a fair bet Diahatsu are using embedded transponder chips in the keys with a steering lock/ignition switch mounted receiver.
That was a popular trend among manufacturers and was the system employed by Diahatsu in their earlier models with a master key and up to three slave keys. They are more likely I think to leave the basic system as it is and just add a remote locking system than to develop an entiely new system at unnecessarily high cost.
They could have cribbed a system from another manufacturer of course...
The Ford PAT system was just about identical and gave little trouble and they bridged the gap by fitting remote locking and providing a remote.
The Renault system was similar but many models were very troublesome as they aged and the immobiliser was soon updated and was integrated with the key "plip"
Both these manufacturers use a dashboard mounted light to indicate whether the immobiliser had been successfully disengaged but I have no information about the Diahatsu other than a note dedicated diagnostic equipment is required for key coding.
I am sorry this hasn't been much help.
Terios 2009 fuel gauge not working properly
Check the wires that go to the fuel sender (at the tank) one is corroded, or loose.. or worst case the fuel sender has died.Very very rarely does the actual guage break...
