Hello
If you locked up the compressor from an overcharge condition you have damaged it and it will likely need to be replaced, this requires special tools and skills, so at this point it is the better idea money wise to have a professional repair or replace the AC compressor and evacuate and recharge the system with the proper equipment.

How do you replace the
start by jacking the car (SAFELY secure it up in the air with jack stands) - remove the tire on the side you want to replace, once in there you will need to get at the center of the wheel and remove the nut, pop the axle out and replace..
it would be wise to have a drain pan and rags for any oil which may leak and or seep out..as you progress forward the removal becomes more evident, there are typically no spring type clips, the shaft slides right out. other hint: you may find it easier to turn the steering wheel - again be sure you safely secure the car when it is up off the ground
Best regards

Car doesn't start. Changed starter
You really need three hands to check the battery voltage; one to turn the key, two more to check the battery at its terminals while trying to start.
If you could get it to any chain auto parts store they can lload test your battery in a minute or two assuming a wait for a store employee.
Also check the clamp ends of the battery cables to make sure the copper inside hasn't been dissolved.
Bend them slightly at the clamp; if they break, they are due.
