2008 BMW X5 3.0si Questions & Answers
My 2008 X5 has recently stalled a few times when at a stop sign and wont restart for 20-30 minutes. I have narrowed this down to happening ONLY when the AC is running. Any ideas?
This is a long shot, but try this. It may be that your battery is very low on fluid (acid water). The car runs off the battery with the alternator constantly charging it. If it is too low on acid fluid it will not take enough charge. At highway speeds the alternator will put out more amperage and compensate for the weak battery. When the engine is a idle or low RPM the alternator charges less. The AC unit draws current from the battery. AC draw may just enough to overwhelm the weak battery and kill the engine. After the car sits for a little while it is able to crank the engine, partly because the starter, when cool, draws less current. Check the acid/water level in the battery and if adequate, have the battery checked for a dead cell.
2003 BMW X5 E53. Why doesn't the CD cartridge eject?
There could be several reasons why the CD cartridge is not ejecting from your 2003 BMW X5 E53. Here are some steps you can try to get it out and potential causes of the issue:
- Check the CD player: First, make sure that the CD player is on and functioning properly. If the player is not working, it may not be able to eject the cartridge. Check the player for any error messages or signs of malfunction.
- Press the eject button: Try pressing the eject button on the CD player. If the cartridge is still not ejecting, you may need to try a different method.
- Use a thin object: If the eject button is not working, you can try using a thin object, such as a paperclip or needle, to press the eject button. Insert the object into the small hole near the eject button and push gently. This may release the cartridge.
- Check the cartridge: If the cartridge is still not ejecting, there may be a problem with the cartridge itself. Check the cartridge for any signs of damage or wear. Make sure that the CDs are properly inserted into the cartridge.
- Check the CD player mechanism: If the cartridge is not damaged and the CD player is functioning properly, the issue may be with the CD player mechanism. In this case, you may need to take the car to a mechanic or a BMW dealership for repair.
It's worth noting that some BMW models have a security feature that prevents the CD cartridge from ejecting if the battery has been disconnected or the car has been jump-started. If this is the case, you may need to enter a security code to unlock the CD player before you can eject the cartridge. Check your car's manual for instructions on how to enter the security code.
