2007 BMW 750 IL I will not switch gears automatic transmission. Pops itself back in the park after and drive it will reverse but Will Not Drive forward. Before this all happened I felt slipping

Could be worn friction bands, could be damaged torque convertor, could be low on oil pressure, could be an oil leak causing low oil. Etc etc etc. Take it to an automatic transmission expert for diagnosis.

Hi,

If you are "stuck in the Mountains", then it would be relatively dangerous to go back down if the vehicle's computer senses any malfunction in the braking system. Even your emergency brakes are also giving a warning. Since your vehicle is experiencing multiple malfunctions, either the sensors are reading wrong inputs, there is something really big wrong with the car or the car's computer is having a glitch. If even after performing the below listed steps and the warnings are still there and/or you are not comfortable with the brakes, then it perhaps would be wise to seek qualified professional assistance and consider alternative ways of going back down.

In most cars, the on board computer could be reset by removing the negative terminal of the battery. Some requires that this be done with the ignition turned ON but engine not running. Likewise, there are some car stereos that will go into protective mode (security lock) when the battery terminals are removed and would require a "code".

On the brake, pls look under your vehicle, there could be sensors that were disconnected. For the brakes, they would normally be at the back of each wheel. Additonally, parking brake lights would also come on if the brake fluid level is below minimum or if the brake pads have reached a pre-determined level of thickness (or thinness in this case).

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

2006 BMW 750 Li i-Drive malfunction. Wheel sporadically starts tp spin on it's own

switch is dirty or worn or its a software fault, system has a driver like a pc with a mouse etc if the unit reads the controler wrong it can do this. can also be a loose wire from the switch to the controller board, and its connecting and testing connection. the area where the switch is, are common to get dirty terminals., removing the switch and cleaning out the switch with switch cleaner would be the easier thing to do and testing the wiring and computer would need a run diagnostic ie they use a computer and take the vehicle for a drive and see if they can catch the system doing the fault and this can sometimes give no information on the fault.

Seat switches are bad. Not unusual given their position. You could pull the wiring harness off and disassemble the switches to look for bad contacts, but likely both switches will require replacement:

I have a 1996 BMW 750 IL The battery is at full charge but when I turn the key to start there is nothing – lights are on seatbelt indicator on but no power to the starter can you help me with this

Turn on your headlights and try to start the car. If the headlights go from bright to dim or off , then the battery or it's connections are bad, or loose or corroded. If the headlights stay bright, then the problem is likely the starter or it's connections. Hope this helps.

Locked out

Connect jumper cables to the starter connection which should be visible under the car, hot to the bolted battery cable connection, negative to any ground. Connect the other end to a battery after you have crawled out from under the car.  Also consider; my BMW had the battery in the trunk, which should open with a key.
