2005 BMW 325 Berline - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

Here's what to do: 1. Use the pry tool to carefully pop up the window switch assembly from the door panel. Then, disconnect the wiring harness from the switch assembly. 2. Take out the two Phillips-head screws located under the armrest. 3. Use your pry tool to gently unclip the door panel from the door. Start at the bottom and work your way around the sides, being careful not to break the clips that hold the panel in place. 4. Lift the whole panel up to free it from the window sill. 5. Disconnect the wiring harnesses on the backside of the door panel by pressing the tabs and pulling the connectors apart. 6. Once the panel is off, you'll be able to see the speaker, which is held in place by screws. Take off these screws to free the speaker. 7. Disconnect the wiring harness from the speaker. 8. Connect the new speaker to the wiring harness and screw it into place. Then, put the door panel back on by reversing the steps above.

P1418 is a Secondary Air Injection Valve / Secondary Air Hose Clamped error .

How did you test the battery? The fact that you jumped it and drove home with no problem tells you the battery is the problem.

the starter will be at the flyweel, typically at the 8 or 4 o'clock position.

Follow the large, positive battery cable to the starter.

I would say its the same fuse that the lights use. If the tail lights work, its probably not the fuse but the globe or the wiring to the globe or a poor earth.

There are micro switches around the frame (don't know where exactly) but these can fail

dealer only think you may need a new BSI unit ? or a new dash unit ? the later is most likely as its a mini computer behind that dash

if eml is on you must get codes checked on a scanner by a local Tech. They will tell you why light was on and what caused it.

Do you have the owner's manual for your 325ci? If so, have you checked the phone pairing section? The button on the steering wheel is probably not for pairing but rather for using the phone. Most likely you need to pair through some sequence of buttons/menus from the infotainment system.

Why do you want to add it? Wipe the dipstick on clean white paper towel or cloth. If there are no leaks and the colour is still fairly bright it should be ok. If there are no leaks and the transmission is slipping it needs to go to a dealer or tranny shop.

You may be able to get those screws with a flex 1/4 drive extension. Most dealerships will refuse this job. That black box may be the Air bag module. Be sure to disconnect battery Ground cable before going any further. Be careful.

At that age its a rebuild or re manufactured unit. I'll be expensive. Probably more cost effective to replace car.
