Screeching metallic noise front wheel

Look for brake pads grinding the brake rotor. It could be the "screamer" which is a small metal part that contacts the brake rotor telling you the pads are worn. Hopefully it hasn't ruined the brake rotor.

2010 outback accelerator sticking

you will have to make this inquiry of the dealer service department or of the manufacturer customer department direct The problem that may arise is that the company will need proof that the vehicle receive all authorized services since new ( which you would have had done if it was new to you) or their out will be that they cannot be held responsible as the car has not had regular services if you feel that there may be a case of liability then take the matter to a legal counsel for advice IN any case the insurance company has to come to the party as it was an accident regardless of the cause and have to honor the contract to repair the vehicle and all details in the policy again if you feel let down talk with legal adviser

My 2010 Subaru Outback tail lights are not working. What do I need to do?

This is odd.. I take it your front parking lights are working? The reason why I ask is that they are on the same circuit as the rear tail lamps usually. If both front and rears aren't working, check the fuse. If the fuse is good, replace the relay. If only the rears aren't working, check the ground wire for the rear wiring harness to the rear lights. This is still odd as your other lamps usually use the same ground point. Finally, if you aren't the first owner or you recently replaced the bulbs.. did you use the proper bulbs? Some bulbs have two filaments called 21/5 Watters. Some vehicles use special connectors for the bulbs that be inserted in either orientation, but will only work both filaments when inserted properly. Try reversing the lamps inside the connectors, one at a time please between tests.

How to reset maintanence light

You need an OBDII scanner that will find the code and the option to reset the code. If the code (meaning maintenance light) comes back on then you need to get it fixed. AWD cars/crossovers/etch. Have a TON of electronics and extra components like electronic locking differentials or mechanical (nickname is "diff" ) diffs . On the Outback the system is on all the time, and it has a Haldex differential that sends more power to the wheels with grip. There are a ton of things that can go wrong with a complex system.... but the main cause is electronic in nature. Also, simple things like replacing 2 tires and having the other two nearly bald will cues the wheels to rotate at slightly different speeds. The system can't handle that friction and stress for long and you can blow the AWD system mechanically.. All tires must be replaced at the same time or very, very nearly the same time. Go to AutoZone and they will check that light for you for free, and may even reset it for free or nearly free low-bucks. Good Luck. The Outback is a great car and will last a long time if you take care of her! -Chris

Subaru how to unlock seat belt

Not quite sure what you mean by got around passenger seat. But if the seat is blocking the belt from retracting, then you only need to unbolt the seat from the floor enough to manipulate the belt around the seat. Or just completely unbolt it all the way, you just need a 14mm deep socket and a ratchet. But if you mean the belt just won't retract, then you'll need a new retractor assembly. I hope this info helps!

Minimum rotor thickness

I don't know the min thickness, but I have an outback just like yours and if there is a problem with uneven rotors it's usually cheaper and easier to buy aftermarket at NAPA auto or other supplier (shop around) and trash the old rotors. If the rotors can be turned then keep them for the next brake job and use them then. Outbacks are easy to do about 30 min a side rotor and pads after the wheel is off, just did mine.
