Saab 9-3 SE won't start!!!
My boyfriend was having the same problem with his 2002 9-3 and in reading the user manual i found the following...when the car wouldn't start this morning he tried it and instead of having to wait 15 minutes for it to start, it started right up. Oh and his screen didn't give an error.
Electronic starting interlock
(immobilizer)
When the key is inserted in the ignition, a
signal is sent to the receiver. If the signal is
verified, the engine can be started.
Each time the key is removed from the ignition,
the electronic immobilizer is activated.
If a fault is detected (e.g. in the transmitter)
”KEY NOT ACCEPTED” will appear on the
SID.
In this case, you can still start the car if you
turn the ignition key to ON and press one of
the buttons on the key.
Take the car to an authorized Saab dealer to
have the system checked.
If the car does not start
If the text "KEY NOT ACCEPTED" appears
on the SID when the engine refuses to start,
the trouble may be a fault in the transponder
of the key or in the receiver of the ignition
switch. Proceed as follows:
• Turn the key back to the LOCK position.
• Turn the key to the ON position.
• Press one of the buttons on the remote
control (the LED on top of the dash stops
flashing).
• Start the engine.
Try the other key. If it works, the trouble is in
the first key.
Call on an authorized Saab dealer for
inspection and correction
Vehicle vibrates under acceleration but
If this happens when acceleration in a straight line, it indicates either a cylinder misfire, in which case the MIL lamp will be lit or, you have worn CV joints at each end of the drive shafts to the driven wheels.
Outer CV wear is usually manifest by a 'rhythmic clicking' on turns under load. Vibration usually is inner CV wear.
My saab 9-3 aero coupe 2001 has misfiring problem when going to accelerate the speed of the car. also turbo doesn't give the power it should.help
HelloThe engine
and automatic transmission in this vehicles drive train
are fully electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM
(Power Train Control Module). Whenever a problem like this occurs the
computer stores a record of the problem (there are of course some
exceptions to this, like the fuel pump, engine coolant temperature
sensor and MAF sensor for instance) in the form of a fault code in
its memory, to read these fault codes you must have the systems
memory scanned with a special tool. Once the fault code(s) are read
you then must perform the appropriate diagnostic testing to find and
resolve the problem(s) DO NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS UNTIL A
TRAINED TECHNICAIN HAS DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM TO AVOID SPENDING YOUR
HARD EARNED MONEY ON PARTS THAT MAY NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM
Abs light is on and triangle with !
First I suggest scanned the computer car n order to know exaqctly what is the fault code thst causing this warning light. Note it and send us this code number for other details.Sometimes, Autozone or Autoshop with OBD scanner reader make this job for free.Hope this helps.
P0131 sabb 93 2001 po121 error codes
P0131 - O2 Sensor Circuit Low Voltage Bank 1 Sensor 1 (sensor is before the catalytic converter)Possible causes- Front Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1 harness is open or shorted - Front Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1 circuit poor electrical connection - Faulty Front Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1 - Inappropriate fuel pressure - Faulty fuel injectors - Intake air leaks may be faulty - Exhaust gas leaks P0132 - O2 Sensor Circuit High Voltage Bank 1 Sensor 1Possible causes- Front Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1 harness is open or shorted- Front Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1 circuit poor electrical connection- Faulty Front Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1- Inappropriate fuel pressure- Faulty fuel injectors- Intake air leaks may be faulty- Exhaust gas leaks I am not really sure what is going on here with the same O2 sensor giving these lean and rich codes, if nothing else is apparent and the engine runs well you may have a defective O2 sensor.
Clicking noise - near side roof area, Saab 93 hatchback 2001
The only clicking sounds I'm aware of come from the top of the strut mount bearings that are worn out on older vehicles that tend to have over like 80,000 miles on them during certain turning or bumps. I don't know of that helps you or not.
Blowers constantly blowing even without key in the ignition
You definitely have a short somewhere in the circuit. I dont know if its in the air speed control knob, the fan motor, the key switch, or a relay somewhere. If the fan kept blowing even after you removed the fuse, my first guess would be somewhere under the hood in a relay, or the key switch. Because everything usually turns off when you turn off the ignition key. But I am no Saab expert and electrical issues are a real pain, no matter what the make of car.I have had that problem with a car before and ended up, putting a on/off switch in the blower motor power wire and just turned it off and on that way when I needed it. Not really the true solution, but it worked for my 25 year old car at the time. Good Luck!
Need help can you please
their are no codes for this number either under saab or opel the parent companybut i have given you the generic codes which i hope are correct
P0251....Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' (Cam/rotor/Injector)
P0260....Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'B' Intermittent (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
P0261....Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low
Now you havent answered if this is a diesel or a petrol engine but either way it doesnt seem to make sense on a common rail engine but more of a diesel of the older system from about 8 yrs ago but without model or year ?? i just do not know other than its a diesel injectop pump of pre common rail and it has a fault ,as the intermediate pumps had electronic control on the injectors
Can't turn key in ignition
Check the locking mechanism. The key and shift locking mechanism are connected together. You would have to inspect both assembly.
