Oil pressure drops after 20
Warm oil will have less viscosity - normal. If you think it is going down too far you can use a higher viscosity oil to start off with. Just make sure that you use the oil that is recommended by the manufacturer and you are good to go.
Just use what is called for and fill properly - do not overfill.

Chevy truck forum troubleshooting problems
if it is overheated what smart people do is have a wet and dry compression test done to determine the extent of the damage
yes 180.000mils id s fair distance but about 1/2 of what can be expected if the motor was well maintained
Not every overheating destroys an engine and what you call severly overheated may just be head gaskets or cracked heads
for instance , when the engine was allowed to cool down, coolant added and the engine started , was there any rattles clangs or bangs evident, did it miss badly, immediately blow the water out of the radiator or did it start and run reasonably well
What I am trying to do is remove the hysteria of what happened to get to a point where consideration can be given to a reasonable course of action
unless you lost all of the coolant from a burst bottom radiator hose there is still coolant around the cylinders
even if the pistons have picked up on the cylinder walls (rattles and bangs ) or the rings have softened the damage can be repaired with a cylinder rebore /hone and new pistons and ring sets
the heads will need a skim to make them flat again and new head gaskets but generally all of that will return the engine to serviceable condition cheaper than a new engine and be better than a wrecker/junkyard engine
a compression test will reveal the extent of the damage to start with , then the head removes will show the rest of the damage to the cylinder bores
all you have to do is find an accredited engine reconditioning shop ( not the local mechanic as they will say straight out --new engine) and get a diagnosis and quote before you make the decision
