2010 Chevy impala airbag light on, is it a costly problem?
Only if you go to the dealership. I suggest if you own this car and plan on keeping it for a bit get your self Chilton Repair manual and Haynes repair manual. You can at least be familiar with what and how somethings repaired so you could avoid a costly repair. If a mechanic sense you dont know much about cars watch out. These manual have wiring schematics and diagrams indicating where fuses and relas are located. The manuals are vehicle specific so youd ask for Chevy 2010 Chevrolet Impala. Having some knowledge is better than none and no it's not an expensive repair if you are doing it yourself.
Tcs warning light
If a misfire is bad enough the cpu will shut off traction control causing the light to come on. For the engine light to be flashing you need a heavy miss and shouldn't drive it due to potential Cat failure. Changing the coil can fix all issues if that's the only part causing a misfire, typically i would recommend changing the spark plugs while you are in there.
2010 impala no gear indicator no crank no start
The gear indicator is a electonic signal from the PCM / ECM which ever engine computer your vehicle has . A message is sent over the GMLAN serial data network . Do you know what C.A.N. is ? controller area net work . In fact all the thing's on your instrument cluster , speedometer , fuel gauge , temp., ABS , traction control , plus the starting is the samething . The ignition switch is a input to the BCM - body control module . When it see's voltage from ignition switch it sends a message via data bus to the engine computer which in turn will energize the starter relay cranking the engine . There is nothing you can or should do to try and fix this yourself . Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop . (dealer ) Because not knowing these systems you can render your vehicle none fixable .
How to Diagnose Controller Area Network CAN
2010 impala high beams do not come on, light on dash comes on, replaced bulbs still don't work, checked all fuses, look good
High Beam Headlamp Operation
Battery voltage is applied at all times to the coil and switch sides of the HIGH BEAM PCB Relay located in the underhood fuse block. When the headlamp dimmer switch is placed in the high beam position, the headlamp dimmer switch signal circuit to the BCM is pulled low signaling the headlamp high beam request. In response to this signal, the BCM applies ground through the high beam relay control circuit energizing the high beam relay. With the high beam relay energized, battery voltage is applied through the switch side of the relay, the left and right high beam fuses, and the high beam supply voltage circuits illuminating the high beam headlamps. At the same time the BCM sends a GMLAN serial data message to the instrument panel cluster (IPC) requesting the IPC to illuminate the high beam indicator. Ground for the left headlamp is provided at G101 and the right headlamp at G100.
