My 740 il 1996 traction

The light for the traction control means that it was deactivated manually or is simply inactive. If it was not because of manual deactivation, inspect the fuse other than that the throttle cable for the traction control. There should be a throttle cable for the module that overrides the pedal you have. Check if it was disconnected or loose. If all checks out OK you may have to connect a scanner to the system and retrieve error codes to help accurately pinpoint the issue.

I have a 2002 BMW

that is a fault code for the cam sensor, driver side-the cam position sensor is located to right of the dip stick it is round with a black wire coming from it, if you trace it back it will lead up into the igniter housing. Best sourse of action is to disconnect the negative terminal on the battery and let the car sit for about 5 minutes, then connect it (clean terminals while you are waiting, good thing to do no matter what, use steel wool or a wire brush)-if it comes back on, check the connector first-it may just be dirty/loose or you might have a damaged harness. Worse case, you may have to replace the sensor, and it is fairly easy to do on that engine, and not real expensive.

How to change fuelpump on

Hi oddkl23,

The fuel pump is located under the carpet cover in the trunk. It will be right of the spare wheel. You will find a cover with a few screws. Under the cover is the pump unit with a harness connector and about 6 or 8 nuts. The 2 hoses attached to the pump have arrows on them indicating flow. Make note of their position. After disconnecting the harness connector and hoses, remove the nuts, then the pump cover.Be sure to replace the o-ring under the cover when installing the new pump. The pump sending unit can be pulled straight up, but is attached to the pump still in the tank. The pump is secured in the tank with 2 tabs. The tabs are at approximately 9oclock and 3 oclock. Release the tabs and remove the pump unit. (hint:make sure to have a few rags placed around the pump area before removing, so that you can soak up any fuel spilled during repairs).Reinstall in reverse order.

I have a 1999 BMW

  • There are two Camshaft position sensors. The one this is for is the one by the oil dipstick on the LH side of the engine. If you replaced the other you need to replace this one as well. Both are recommended, in other words when changing one it is recommended to change the other as well.
  • If you have any further questions or comments please feel free to ask and thank you for using FixYa.

I have the following DME

you may refer to the code in the link below:

I find it odd that there are a lot of error. I would advise to inspect the wiring harness for the airbags unless there is damage in the control unit. I also advise to have the SRS checked out to ensure they are working. I do recommend that the dealer take a look at this as well since the system involved is related to safety.
