How to fix thermostat stuck in open position
U replace it with a new thermostat that will open and close per conditions.
Leaving old one in will not damage the engine - only thing is that it will take the engine longer to heat up. Up North you might just want some heat asap. But down south it is no big deal other than you are operating your engine for a longer period of time at cooler temps when it is less efficient.
Ford focus stoping at idling every time what problem
Restricted air flow. Replace the air filter if dirty. Clean the throttle body and MAF sensor. I use brake clean. Use a tooth brush on the throttle body , just spray down the MAF sensor. Leave the MAF off, start the car and spray some in the throttle as you rev it up. If the engine light comes on, it is because of the MAF being off. It will go out in a day or two. Or you can have it cleared.
Number 28 fuse keeps blowing
Some wire has lost its cover-layer of insulation, and the bare wire is contacting the metal frame of the vehicle. Kapow!
Get a technician to look for this "short-circuit".
Fuse for turn signal
The fuse for the signal lights controls both lights. If the fuse is blown none of the signal lights will work. If the left front/rear signal is not working or is flashing fast suspect a defective bulb
Ford Focus air con not working
Unfortunately air con units are pressurised with a volatile gas which over time "leaks" out and eventually stops cooling any air .you will need to have it re gassed or repressurised...ballpark figure is about £75 to have done but you may find someone who can do this cheaper.system need re gassing every so often.
What tools do I need to change brake pads on ford focus 2008
A few of these poster are making assumption's on what model 2008 Focus the question is directed. Actually on a Ford Focus S with a 2.0 liter the caliper is held on by 2 metric bolts.
I believe the caliper housing is held on by a 15 mm bolt, and you might need a 17mm to hold the caliper pins from spinning.
A 2008 Focus has no removable spring, just a spring plate that the brake pad rides in.
Remember to loosen the bleeder line with a 10mm when you compress the caliper to get rid of the excess fluid or take off the cap to the master cylinder, so the pressure will not damage the master cylinder. Make sure and clean the caliper slides with brake cleaner and lubricate them with a good non-petroleum base grease.
The wrench light is on on my 2008 ford focus what
I assume you have no owners manual or never read it.
The wrench is a MIL Lamp--- a Malfunction Indicator Lamp
It tells you that something like a sensor or other issues,is out of range,as far as the PCM (Computer) sees it. When ever you get a check light, mil light, trac, abs ,etc, you go to a repair shop fairly soon, like a couple of days or so, and have the issues checked out. This will happen a couple times a year ,on most of todays vehicles,so get used to it,and expect to pay a diagnostic fee, plus repair
