It's most likely car key hole issue.

That engine does not have wet liners. They are cast in.

first try cleaning the throttle body. see you tube to see how this is done. if it does not work bring it to auto zone and they may be able to diagnose it with the engine problem solver they plug into your dash.

Check the plugs to make sure they are ok. Then i suggest getting some Carburetor cleaner and cleaning the inside of the Carburettor making sure the build up of old oil does not fall inside the carb but stuffing an old rag into the unit carefully not to damage the fans. Once you sprayed the Carb cleaner and removed the old build up of oil and gunk , remove the rag carefully and spray som carb cleaner into the unit . do not replace the pipework back on yet as you can get rid of excess in the carb without it going back into the pipes. . Give it a few minutes and start the car up and Rev it up a few times . Replace the pipework , Put some fuel system cleaner additive into the tank and give it a good poking on a motorway. This should clear the system and have a better power output.

run fault codes and look for torque converter clutch solenoid/servo problems and TCM problem. Check oil condition and change if tan coloured.

I think you tune the station you want and hold the button in for about 10 seconds or until the radio acknowledges the change.

Most likely, the problem you are dealing with is a dead battery. The reason this is apparent is you said "there is no clicking noise like a bad starter, it just does nothing..." Normally, if there is any charge at all in the battery, you will get the clicking noise you describe as the ignition circuit is trying to charge the solenoid that turns over the starter and turns on the engine. If you have a battery jumper box available, your S40 will probably start at the first flick of you ignition key if your battery is fairly new. To hook up the battery box, just place the clips as you would standard jumper cables, red to red (+) on the battery and black (-) to a good ground point on the engine (it has to be solid metal-to-metal contact). Then turn key to fire up the engine. Once your car has started you have to run it about 10 miles to put any sort of charge back into the battery. If the battery won't hold the charge then it is time to replace it.

That sounds like your starter solenoid is going bad ; if the clicking is a fast paced sound.

HC is raw or un burnt fuel. CO is incomplete combustion meaning the air fuel is burnt but not burnt completely. check O2 sensors for operation, fuel pressure, gas in oil or how long has it been since an oil change. check engine timing, dirty injectors. when was the last time a tune-up was done plug/wire condition is the air filter clean. just some things to check

the windscreen is a specialist job, it will need cutting out then bonding back in, I hope this helps

hi i have a agila 2004 i thought i may have got damp in sensors and plugs ect so i took them all out gave them a wipe and put them back also done the ecu 1 wich i think was a bad thing because now my car wont start all it does is keep trying to turn over when i put my ignition on the managment light or spanner light doesnt come on at all can any 1 help

I think your fuel pump relay is bad as it activates the pump and thestarter . Also check the starter relay . It could be going bad.

P0420 indicates Catalytic convertor not efficient. could be rear sensor. Guaranteed fix is to remove the rear sensor and reinstall with a spacer to fool the computer
