How to drain radiator on 2008 passat
You can always drain a radiator by removing the lower radiator hose; often the radiator has a drain **** you can unscrew as well. ON VW products there may be a quick-disconnect U-shaped wire bail that needs to be pulled out ¼-½" in order to release the plastic coupling (VW/Audi hoses are often unique, can't just buy one from the store) and then you have to winkle the coupling off. When you replace the coupling consider using a bit of raw coolant to lubricate the O-ring in the plastic coupling if there is one and/or replace the O-ring. If you break the coupling you'll need t? get a new hose assembly.
Little heat
It is a heater core not an evaporator. Core is locater against the firewall behind the dash. If the fluid level has gotten low recently it could have air trapped in the core. The return hose from the core is located on the driver side under the hood, under the cover on the cowl. The hose has a bleed hole located under the clamp. loosen the clamp, slide the hose back and expose the hole.. Fill the coolant bottle and run the engine. when you get a steady stream of coolant the air is out. If you still have no heat it could be an issue with the doors in the evap unit. Remove the glove box and check to see if the doors move when you use the controls. If all that is ok you have a plugged core.
