Oil filter on 2008 Saturn Astra in inside of a canister that is located behind the radiator and a bit to the drivers side. A ONE-INCH socket is needed along with a ratchet, extension and universal joint to compensate for involved angle. Damage to the one-inch screw-on canister cap - I've seen a replacement available at eBay.

2008 astra stuck in park
I find if you park on a grade different cars have a habit of doing that. Get some one to rock the car back and forth and keep working the lever as they do. I had mine stick just a week ago but I got it to release just by forcing the shifter. But don't do it hard enough to break it.
P0304 astra cylinder 4 missfire
Make sure all new spark plug setting are set right. I bought a set and the car still would not run right so we found two plugs had been dropped and had to be reset. After resetting the car ran good.
How can I remove alternator?
-Disconnect negative battery terminal.
-Take the airbox out of the way, easier to work on.
-Remove the two long screws holding the alternator in place, I think it was with an e13 or 14 socket.
-Jack up the car, and you can pivot the alternator out of the bracket, might need a screw driver, and disconnect the harness
-After you got the alternator moved out of the way, there should be a 14mm, or 13mm nut holding the battery cable to the alternator. You can get it off with a long extension and ratchet.
Then the hardest part, getting the alternator out the engine block, take the wheel off and try to get it to slide out the engine bay from the bottom. Its a hard task. I had to remove my motor mount and jack it up from the side to the exact position to get it enough wiggle room to clear everything. You could also try disconnecting the CV shaft if its really stubborn.
