2009 Ford Focus wont go passed 350 rpms and seems like it might stall
The
following are the general instructions on the start of diagnosing any
electronically controlled engine or transmission problem.
The
engine and the automatic transmission (transmission control is only
for automatics, engine is still computer controlled no matter the
transmission type) in this vehicle are computer controlled and in
most cases when a fault occurs a fault code is stored in the memory
of the computer control module. There are exception to this, such as
the Mass Airflow Meter and fuel pressure problems. What must be done
is to have all the basic testing done such as a scan of the system
for fault codes as well as a check with a live data scanner tool for
engine functions that are not within range of normal, a trained
technician is required to know what is correct and what isn't, then
based on careful diagnostics done from a factory repair manual the
correct part is replaced or the wiring repaired or the computer
replaced (known as the PCM), which is very rarely the problem. Other
basic checks must be done as well such as mechanical problems with
the engine as well as engine state of tune and mileage on the engine.
The transmission can have mechanical issues as well such as no gear
engagement at all or a failed pump or other pressure related
problems. Also engine mechanical problems ca cause many
drive-ability related problem such as rough idle and other symptoms

I would first check the fuse box for any burnt fuses, there will be a fuse diagram in your owners manual or maybe on the cover to the fusebox. If no fuses are burt it is probably a bad cig lighter. good luck.

What is the recommended engine oil for a 1.6 ford focus zetec tdci
Ashley you will find most info like this in you owners manual. but I would use a multiple grade oil like a 5 - 30W or 10 - 30W or just a good 30 Weight oil. Change out your oil every 3K miles at same time check your other fluid levels under the hood and check you tires air pressure too. Look at what you pay to do it yourself and then you have to dispose of the old oil oil & filter cost about $17.00 to 19.00 plus your time to do the work and then take old oil to dispose of at the parts store. OR just go to an one of these businesses that change out your oil for you for $21.00 and you stay clean. Get a coupon and you can have it done for as little as $15.00 and most of these Co. will check all your other fluids, some will even vacuum your car and clean your windshield. PS check you oil levels before you go to one of these shops make sure you oil is not a court low or they will not change you oil or they will put a disclaimer on your receipt claiming there not responsible for any damages to your car if they screw up you on your own no recourse.

How do I reset the
If the problem has been repaired than the light will go out automatically. If you have not repaired the problem the light will not go out even if you try to clear the codes with a scan tool.
Your best bet is to scan the ABS module with a scan tool and find out what codes are stored. Then you'll have a much better idea of what the problem could be. I’m happy to assist further over the phone at

Check the Wheel Speed Sensor's (WSS) on the backside of each wheel hub. Look for damage, broken wires and check all connections.

Lock 13 means that radio is completely locked down due to too many incorrect code entries. When this happens the radio is effectively 'bricked up' and needs specialist attention.
The radio has to be completely reprogrammed by Ford now as it will not accept a code any longer. This will be costly but unfortunately there is no other way around it.
Your best option actually is to look out for a cheap replacement unit on ebay.
Thanks for using FixYa.
