When the engine stops, does the entire system shut down including the gauges and electrical or just the engine?

Hi Steve, I'm glad to help. First, take of the front wheel's. Then press the calipers inward, this will make it easier to remove the calipers. Next, remove the calipers with the old pads. PUSH the calipers all the way back and install the new pads. There are only 2 bolts holding a single caliper. NEXT, If you plan to replace the rotors. NOTE: Which I recommend. You'll need to remove the bracket that holds the caliper, there is only 2 bolts holding it to the spindle. NEXT, Remove the rotor and relace with new rotors. Note: sometimes the original rotors are stuck because of rust you'll need to tab them off with a hammer. After installing the new rotors, it helps to put one nut on to hold the rotor in-place. Then re-install the bracket, the caliper and thighten the bolts. CAUTION: DO NOT try to drive the vehicle until pumping the brakes and they are very firm. Install the wheels and your good to go. you cannot set the timing anymore , the engine computer does that now , have you checked to see if the camshaft position sensor was re-positioned properly . the exhaust valve camshaft may not be positioned properly. there are holes in the camshaft pulleys and the cylinder head that must be aligned and retained with bolts before you remove the timing belt / chain

If your problem is the cargo light not working when you open the gate, chances are the body computer is not correctly reading the signal. That happened with my Jeep Liberty. The first time it was under warranty and the tech replaced the body computer. About four years later it happened again but I didn't replace it, I can live without it. I just open a side door to turn on the cargo light. If you are seeing a light telling you the gate is not closed, that sounds like the switch is bad. That should be a less costly repair than a body computer. As best I know, the switch is in the latch mechanism.

located in the latch you have to remove the back door panel or you can remove the little door panel in the rear to disconnect it so that the light on the dash goes out or replace the latch

Hi, I'm Peter, The auto parts store or Harbor freight will have body molding tools. These will be flat pieces that have different shapes cut in them for various clips. You slide the toll in where the clip is and gently pry up and it will pop the clip out. If you do damage a clip they aren't that much and depending on the color they carry black and white ones at various part stores. If you have a specific color one then you'll have to get it from the dealer. It's a lot better to damage a clip as opposed to what it is holding. Good luck.
