2009 challenger trunk button doesnt work
Sounds like you have blown a fuse. This fuse is usually one of the fuses under the hood, in the black fuse block. It will likely be one of the fuses that is in the YELLOW carrier. Test the fuse and replace with the same size fuse. By testing, I mean that you should use a test light and touch the top exposed metal parts of the fuse. If the test light is hooked up to ground (metal of the car) the test light should light up on both sides of the fuse. If there is only power on one terminal of a fuse, that is telling you that you have a blown fuse.

I do not know about your vehicle but it sounds like a possible lack of lubrication in its gearbox or bearing wear. As things warm up metals expand to free themselves, or low lubricant may take its time to "splosh" up to higher positioned shafts and gears in its box after draining down overnight.
I would check this out urgently as friction can make things weld together (look up friction welding) which should not thus destroying a gearbox.
