This is a simple misfire on Cylinder 4. Check plug, leads and coil. Run some Injector cleaner. The P0304 code stands for "Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected", which means your vehicle's cylinder 4 has misfired enough times for your powertrain control module (PCM) to notice. When A timing belt breaks, the best way to see if the engine is still good is to retime the motor, put a new timing belt on without the covers or anything else in the way or replaced, (that way you can see the belt and timing marks moving) and do a compression test one each cylinder. you're not looking for compression to be at specs, you just need to have a compression reading on each cylinder. if you have compression in each one, finish the job up and it should work. if you have no compression in one or more cylinders, chances are you have a bent valve. that involves pulling the heads off and having them gone through.

hint: To reset the timing on the engine move each gear just a little at a time swtiching between them each time. If you start to feel any binding that feels like you're hitting a piston, you probably are. it's normal to feel some tesion from the springs, bout you can still turn the gear with a little effort. it's tricky to describe the difference, but once you feel the spring pressure, you'll know what the feel of a valve on a piston feels like. if this happens, just move the crank a little bit and then go back to the cams. take your time and you'll be able to get the motor re-timed.

you do have a timing belt. this engine is actually a NON INTERFERANCE engine. if you t-belt brakes, engine will be ok. have seen it plenty of times. to quickly check if your belt is broken/not good, simply remove the distributor cap and crank it. it the rotor is spinning, then belt didnt brake. however it still could be out of time if the belt jumped a tooth two. if it jumped more than 3 teeth, then it will not start, because cams are out of time.

the 05-07 nissan quest has a problem with code p0462 fuel level sen/circ (low voltage) . In past 6 months if serviced 10 van with this issue, and found according to service manual that the tank sender unit is at fault. This has not fixed the issue, and the cluster self test/data montitor values show to be in specs. swapped cluster out of known good van has fixed this issue everytime . the cluster is nearly 400 bucks . You can have yours repaired !! ck online .

I am 4 months late, but here goes , one more HUNT engine question. if you try to buy one ,none are sold, so where'd you put it if can't buy one, now that is the $64,000 question, no problem told at all just a hunt, endless here, is engine power lacking and some dweeb said find the MAP that does not exist, why you posted? YES! one more useless hunt. yes this engine has MAF< (air meter) not a baro map sensor. the mAF is just behind all air cleaners. just there. no country told. no engine told (yes for USA cars below) that sensor is only used on engines that must have one. 1/2 do and 1/2 dont; but not one clue or VIN number of car told map can also be for EGR only testing,(OBD2 USA) the map has vacuum line or intake manifold port mounted, if not seen there it is NOT THERE. (and is not there) Gen 4 quest , USA I only do USA answers. our car has this v6. only 18,000 made (rare) VQ35DE 3.5L V6 my wild wild guess, engine power lacks.? check all fuses first and scan the PCM 2nd? now that matters., 1: bad engine. (cam VVT or chain guides dead?)low compression. 2: bad spark, bad COP coils and spark plugs bad, 100kmile life. 3: bad fueling too much or too little, fuel pressure dead wrong bad FPR bad, or bad MAF. EGR valve stuck open. gross vacuum leaks there are 20 test to do with 20 tools and meters, post real problem and we work that to the end using tools.

for the3.3 v6 single over head cam or ( SOHC ) which is what your vehicle should have. And ( 60,000) miles for 3.0 v6 (SOHC ) but this is for 1995-98

Need to determine if it is electrical or fuel. When it does not run, spray a little starter fluid into the throttle body. If it runs, then it is a fuel problem. Check inline fuel pressure with a gauge. If it does not run, then a scanner will be needed to find the problem.

First, replace bulbs and then check brake light switch, which is located near the top of the brake pedal. Use a voltimeter or test light to verify that there's voltage at the switch connector. It's not bad idea to replace brake light switch. Also make sure the brake pedal is correctly adjusted.

That's the seat belt you need to be wearing in order to save your life or prevent a ticket. Replace the defective belt and belt reel. You can cut the wires but that too will put you in jail for disabling a safety device.
