96 nissan 200sx started and ran rough for 10 sec
something to ponder over here as iam not sure what could be the problem here but if its a weak spark then it could be module /coil/crank sensor in that order .These problems will not show up as fault codes i dont think as they are working but not to full efficiency
Can you help me change my headlight assembley? i
1.) Pop the hood to your Nissan. The headlight assemblies are only accessible from the engine compartment.
2.) Clear the area behind the bulb you are replacing. If you are replacing the passenger side bulb, you will need to remove the radiator overflow bottle. The bottle will unhook from its connective tube by pulling it toward the front of the car and up from the ground. If you are replacing the driver's side bulb, you may need to remove the battery. You will do this by unscrewing the positive (red) and negative (black) terminals that connect the battery to the engine, and then lifting the battery straight out of its housing.
3.) Remove the electrical connection on the back of each headlight assembly. This will be a bundle of wires with a wide plug sticking into the back of the assembly.
4.) Unlatch the plastic clip holding the headlight assembly case in place.
5.) Pry the small metal clip holding the bulb using your fingers or a screwdriver. Be careful not to bend, break or damage the clip or the bulb.
6.) Insert the replacement bulb into the headlight socket and reattach the metal clip that holds the bulb in place.
7.) Relatch the plastic clip holding the headlight assembly case in place.
8.) Reconnect the electrical connection to the back of the headlight assembly.
9.) Replace the radiator overflow bottle or the battery, depending on which bulb you replaced.
I have a 1998 nissan 200 sx 1.6L engine and the
SOULDS LIKE EXCESSIVE EXHAUST BACK PRESSURE CAUSED BY A RESTRICTED CAT CONVERTOR. SHOULD HAVE NO MORE THAN 1.5 TO 3 PSI CHECKED AT THE O2 SENSOR AT IDLE AND AT 2500 RPM. THE CONVERTOR CAN BECOME DAMAGED IF UNBURNT FUEL ENTERS IT. THIS IS CAUSED BY TUNE UP CONCERNS USUALLY.

borrow some ramps you need to get under to remove the starter. also ask for some one to give you a push start. failing that you will need a jack and lift up the car to get to the motor.

Car is making a rattling noise when gaining speed.
The trans. will have a drain plug on the bottom of case and a fill plug about halfway up on one side of the case. Usually a large socket needed for this, like about 21 mm.
You need to check the owner's manual or with Nissan to see what kind and amount of fluid to use, whether gear oil or what. If it's gear oil, you snip the top of the cap off and use a small hose (like a vacuum hose) over the cap. squeeze the bottle to dispense through the hose into the gearbox. If that is inconvenient or difficult, you might need a cheap hand held plunger type pump.
You fill the box just until fluid starts to ooze out the fil hole. Then put the plug in and done.
