Your transmission works by a cable it is stretch and ready to break you might be able to tighten it but if it breaks in park you can not drive if it breaks in drive you can not shift to park to start the car anyway

I would say it has something to do with this !
Shift Interlock System An ignition/shifter interlock mechanism is installed to prevent shifting the transaxle out of the PARK position unless the ignition switch is rotated to RUN and the brake pedal is applied. The floor shift interlock system consists of:
  • an actuator assembly integral to the ignition/shifter interlock cable assembly.
  • a bracket retaining the actuator.
  • the necessary wiring.
The solenoid is energized when the ignition switch is turned to the RUN position, locking the transaxle range selector lever in the PARK position. When the brake pedal is applied and the stoplight switch (13480) is activated, the ignition/shifter interlock actuator is deactivated and the transaxle range selector lever can be moved out of the PARK position.

Nothing wrong with the car. It is getting a signal that mimics your remote's "panic" signal. Someone in your area may have an alarm with a remote controlled snooze. If the car was at fault the times would be random.

Just a guess - the switch function is probably to tell the brain there is sufficient fluid pressure. If there is insufficient pressure or the switch or wiring is faulty a warning light is likely to switch on...

You must check your bushings on the rear shocks/struts on top and on the bottom any one if severely worn will cause the anti lock brake module to run and the traction control because it is sensing a slight movement both are controlled by the abs module for the system also the stabilizer links can cause a weight shift in the wheels letting a sensor activate you also have rear spindle bushings and wheel hubs that have sensor rings on the hubs if the spindle bushings are worn this allows it to twist and uneven traction is the result in the front you have strut rod bushings on each side that connect to the control arms again if worn it's allowing movement triggering the traction /abs sensors and also a worn cv axle will slip slightly activating the system start with the cheapest bushings and links and strut arm and spindle bushings and shock/strut bushings and mounts any movement will activate the system ok please post back with progress you made write down everything you've done so far and I will get back to you also tire treads that are different will cause uneven traction I'm a taxi mechanic in nyc.with 50 years experience in all phases of the automobiles mechanics and I will get you to the problem cause obviously I'm not there so I need you to communicate with me precisely what you have done so far because I can't check the vehicle myself good luck stephen

if its an aftermarket alarm, which im sure it is, find the brain to the aftermarket alarm and unhook it. trace the brain back from the car alarm siren hardware. it shoud b mounted somewhere under the hood. theres not a lot of available space in the engine compartment. so you should easily find the siren hardware. trace the wiring back to the brain and disconnect it. it cant be factory alarm. factory alarm only goes off when u dont use keyless remote or key to unlock a locked door or trunk. factory alarm blows horn and blinks parking lights

I think the factory code for the 2000 Lincoln Continental is 005500. Tou can find out how to re program it in you owner manual or you can fo to Ford's webstire and downlaod a manual from the maintanence area.

You have to code set for the TCC so now you have direction for a fix.Use a good scan tool to check on the TCC condition and related control of it.

If your car battery has went dead or replace you have reprogram the key fob it is very easily done click the car to on 7 or 8 time until you hear doors lock then within 5 secs push key fob lock and you should be good to go

I can't say that I have ever been in the bottom end of a 1957 Lincoln, but I would think it wouldn't be any different that other engines. The rod should have a smooth side and a oil scraper side. Make sure that the smooth side is against the rod next to it and the oil scraper goes against the counter weight throw. And the notch on the piston goes to the front of the engine.
