My 2006 ford territory won't start. The dashboard lights come on and when I try to crank the engine over I just get a loud ticking noise. What could be the problem?

I know people who have changed one coil but I think you should try swapping coil to another cylinder to see if the code changes to that cylinder. Are you using code reader to determine which cylinder you are having problem.

There were five different radios used in this year and model. My guess is that you are looking at high-pass filters for the tweeters.

If the emgine is hunting avoid adjusting govenor. You need to stabilize rpms first. Hunting is almost always carburetor issue.

Set carb fuel air screw to 1 1/2 turn out.

Set point dwell then disconnect vacuum advance and set timing.

Then try adjusting fuel air for peak rpms.

Negative ground? Check coil polarity is correct.

Comment here.

Many of the blend actuators can be adjusted with a scanner. Talk to your mechanic shop or dealership about it.

When the vehicle is not running, take a voltage meter and see if voltage is getting to the fuse and power center. You may have a bad power from the battery cable to the power center. Make sure all the connections are clean and tight.

Go to ford fleet owners manual.com and download the latest version of the owners manual then go to roadside emergencies and your fuse box diagrams and values are there and the relays locations and you can keep it on your phone / computer and then print out what you need there's a lot of important information that you will need in there about key/fob programming and service intervals

Ok possible causes are (1, the center positive contact is corroded/ use a pencil eraser then vacuum out the shavings first before using it (2) the wire plugs that attach to it could be also corroded loose or broken // for corrosion use a nail emery board on the power point tab and for the round plug use steel wool inside with a tooth pick again vacuum out and use alcohol and let dry if it still doesn't work after doing this the inside element is burned out from (a) holding the lighter in longer then usual to get it hot enough to light cigarettes (b) constant use for cell phone chargers your truck is 13-14 years old by the build date sticker and these things will burn out over time it could also be loose from turning the charger while it's in the socket anyway the center positive round piece must be shiny for good contact if yours looks rusty that's possibly your problem but if you know that you have always had to hold it in longer than usual that causes the contact to burn out
