I always run a quart of tranny fluid for a week or so old and change the oil tranny fluid helps to clean the oil system out

The starter motor engages the flywheel, the flywheel is on the rear of engine. On one side of the engine or the other, probably down low. The positive battery cable may go to starter motor? My database has nothing on your vehicle year. The starter motor looks something like the picture. good luck

start with a compression test ,if your getting piston slap theres a lot wrong

This is a notorious problem with '08/'09 Journeys. Unfortunately Dodge, nor the dealers have identified the root cause. Dealers will start by replacing the WIN (wireless ignition) module, then the starter, followed by relays, the ELV module, and finally send you on your way. Soon you will stranded with a NO START / CRANK INOP problem again. There is no real solution identified... ...and that's a travesty. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

R u sure the new switch is the right one if so try running directly to the battery to test the motor for window it could be both r bad at the same time but unlikely it’s going to be wrong switch or recheck the wires going through the door hole and frame very carefully cuz they can get pinched and not break the wire sleeves sometimes
