What's wrong with my 02 dodge Dakota 4.7
If the pump is ticking or making any noise other than a smooth whirring sound, it's bad and needs to be replaced, the fact that the pump makes noise usually means the relay is working. I hope this helps. Take Care.
How do I aim the headlights on 07 Dodge Dakota? I
Hello kueldtk.
According to Dodge manual there is no provision for left/right adjustment on your Dakota.
"No horizontal (right/left) adjustment is required for this headlamp beam
pattern. The high beam pattern will be correct when the low beams are
properly aimed."
Turn the headlamps ON and select the LOW beams. Open the hood and move aside the air shield (1) from the
inboard side of the front lamp unit (2) as needed to access the headlamp
vertical adjustment screw (3). Rotate the adjustment screw on each lamp to adjust the beam
height as required.
This should solve your question.

2001 Dodge Dakota 3.9L oil pressure
The pickup tube is a bad design in these engines, I have fixed several with the same problem, you can weld on a GM screen move it 1/4 of a inch away from the pan or add 1 inch to the bottom of the pan, (use a high volume pump) the problem is the screen is too close and too small and will pick up any sludge off the bottom. also it's great to make a access plate on the bottom of the pan using a Volkswagen Bug oil cover plate, it can be removed with bolts after a oil drain to clean the screen without the hassle of removing the whole oil pan by lifting the engine on these trucks. Good Luck
'96 Dodge Dakota will crank, but won't run.
a bad crank sensor or dist pickup plate can cause this.... check the fuses in the fuse block under the hood for any blown ..... a bad auto shut down relay may cause it .....try putting a test light on the green and orange wire and see if it lights up when you try to crank it
